So the clutch finally went in my 04 Cobra, and I need some recommendations on the best Flywheel/clutch/TOB combo that would be best for what I use the car for.

I had some nightmares with my 99 Cobra using different manufacturers for some of those parts. I also had issues with using a non-Ford TOB, which Maximum Motorsports told me was a bad idea.

I bought this car about 30k miles ago and I've never removed the inspection cover to see what combo is in it, but I've assumed it's the original setup because it feels stock and it still has the stock auto-adjusting quadrant.

The car has 101k on it now. It just has bolt-ons (mods are in my sig) so the drivetrain is stock and I'm putting down 472 rwhp. I don't have any plans to go further than that, it's just a fun street car for me to enjoy and I want to make it last. I had to mess a lot with the clutch issues in my 99 and it sucked so I just want a clutch that will last the longest and put the power down.

Help me fill in the gaps:

Flywheel = ? (is there a replaceable surface on the stock aluminum ones? If so, is that a good idea?)
Clutch = ? (I've used Mcleod in the past but wasn't impressed)
TOB = Ford OEM, unless there's something better?
Pilot Bearing = Ford OEM

Also, I don't intend to get a manual quadrant, the stock one is fine for what I do.

Thanks,
Dan

I think a few guys have had the stock flywheel resurfaced with success. I would imagine it depends on how much needs to be taken off. As for the clutch you could probably go with a stock replacement and be fine with your current set up. I think Valeo makes them now.

Spec 3+ with a light pedal option isnt a horrible idea for what you mentioned. The twin discs are nice, but not necessary for what you are doing. I ran a spec 3, but it's a 6 puck and chatters a bit. Not what I would recommend for your intended use. The 3+ is a solid disc and works well.

I was also thinking a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch, that seems like it would fit my mods pretty good and I've heard good things about them in Cobra's.

I went with spec 2+ clutch with stock flywheel that was resurfaced. I put it in the same time my rebuilt motor went in, so I was low on funds, otherwise I would have gone twin disk. Anyway, I am at about 600whp (never got it dyno'd) and this clutch is holding up great. And it's holding up well, 5k miles so far, given the fact that I didn't break it in like it should have been. I had to seat the piston rings on the new motor so I immediately had to give it the beans before the "nothing over 3k rpms the 1st 500 miles" break in rule. The clutch is soft and noting like the heavy crap that the previous owner installed. And it shifts decent at WOT. I went Ford TOB and pilot bearing. I got chatter after 50 miles or so, which I thought was the TOB, but then out of no where the noise just went away on it's own and hasn't come back.
I did also install Lethal's TOB sleeve and did the anti-venom mod while the trans was out.

Mine didn’t last 10k miles; i was pulley, intake, exhaust, tune making 470-80 whp. It let go with no warning; just immediately started slipping. Besides being worn the kevlar discs glaze easy when its 100+ out and in traffic. Mine is also a low pedal effort option and it was not bad but was definitely heavier than the stock clutch and even the king cobra I had in it before.

Damn, only 10k miles! Well, i plan going to a t56 magnum this year so I'll check out what the clutch looks like when I drop the trans.
