Good to hear you found the issue.
I drove out with a friend so Keith could work his magic on a 5.8
After meeting Keith and seeing his results, I’d definitely trust him with any Modular Ford.
Good luck, hope to see the car run locally this year.

Where did you get the forward facing part of the upper intake from? Was it from the same place as where you got the turbo kit? That's an awesome looking kit.

I actually purchased the entire intake from a friend who was parting their motor out. It’s a Sullivan lower, he fab’d the hat up to size with a Wilson 102mm TB.

Well, got the new engine back from Keith at Winder Racing. All I can say, is that is the guy to go to for anything mod motor. Could not be happier with everything so far, I was working with Keith ok tuning the car before it broke. So the decision was easy to go through him for a clean bill of health engine build.

went with his design Wiseco pistons with big dawg wrist pins. He cleaned up my Teksid, worked the crank and reused my PA+ rods. Lots of new/updated parts inside now, Engine sounds amazing!

just working on break in now for the next week or so and then will be turning her up!

I’ve got an Instagram, @thewrubelator, I’ve been building the car on if any of you are on there. I’m going to try and start posting in here more now, now that the car is moving and we can start moving forward with pushing it.

That's great that you got the engine back from Wonder Racing. I'm sure Keith did an AWESOME job on it. I looking forward to seeing more pics/videos now that you have the engine back and ready to be dropped in.

Here’s a short video from startup of the car.

currently fighting some belt issues. Only running factory water pump, alt up top with 3.0”, standard balancer size, 03 Cobra tensioner (still have 03-04 timing cover), and AC delete pulley. I tried running an idler above the tensioner to eliminate the ac delete, but it does not clear the turbo (lol).

anyways, enjoy the video!

Got the Cobra out quite a bit over the weekend, didnt skip a beat! First time in 4 years I was able to partake in my hometown's annual Cruise Night. Ran great, and got quite a bit of attention! Going to the Blaine Brothers this week to have the 8.8 done up.. Spool, brace/weld tubes, 9" big ends, 33 spline and sticking with the 3.55 gear. Looking like its first track outing will be at US 131 for a private rental on Sept 21, cant wait!

Quick Update, got a new Greg Slack 9" converter in the car, had the limiter set @4k on the brake and she comes up nicey.
Have a small list of updates to complete over winter. Changing a couple things up for simplicity, going to a short belt w/ electric water pump.
- Going back to a 03-04 alternator with Wonder Racing's relocation kit. getting a Mechman 240A Alternator to accommodate that. Cant wait
- New trans cooler w/ fan
- Meziere Electric Water pump
- ATI TH400 catch can
- Got a Holley I/O extension harness, will be adding Trans temp, water pump, fuel level, and running some fresh grounds throughout the car, as well as a battery disconnect.
- Throwing the Chute on for 2022
- Once the weather breaks (Michigan life), plan to get the car on the dyno.

I am going to try andpost more in here with pics/updates as race season gets closer.

Hope you all have a Happy New Year!
