Worth changing the stock intake at all?

Vortech 15psi, 2V 4.6, cams, pulls to 6,200 RPM right now, ~ 525 whp

There is an aftermarket TB/plenum on the stock PI intake

Would it be worth switching over to the Trick Flow Street Burner, Bullitt, or other intake (what else is even out there)?

Let me re-phrase that a little bit, at what price would it be worth it? Find a used intake for $400, make another 25hp...that would make it worth it to me I guess.

Really looking for before/after experience from someone who's actually done it. I don't trust the old magazine reviews, and all I hear is "you should/would/could gain xx hp"

Not worth the money especially on a street car. The low end torque loss isn't worth the little hp gained up top. Think about there you spend most of your time driving.

If you want to add some power run E85 and get a retune and spin the vortech a little harder.

The cool factor of adding a bullitt intake manifold. I don't see a loss in TQ going with that option. Youll gain some power. Will it be enough for the cost. Just depends what you can get one for. I have no personal experience.

The bullitt is I believe the only exception but good luck finding one complete at a decent price these days. I don't think the hp per dollar is worth it.

I love the bullit idea. Great manifold and looks great! If you find one in your price range then grab it

If one can be found for $350 and wasn’t broken/cracked then that would be a great price in my opinion.

It looks to be in great condition and isn’t even really dirty. I just need to get a new throttle cable and probably a better throttle body

I did a lot of online reading on this subject a few years ago. The consensus was just use the Ford Performance PI intake. The bullit was to expensive, added weight, and the gain was not worth either. If you are crazy modified then use the Edelbrock setup.

I do agree, the pi manifold is great and I’m running it currently. But I’m having trouble trusting a plastic manifold with as much boost as I’m planning to run. I thought about going edelbrock manifold but with the fuel rails, plenum adapter and the manifold, I would be 2 Bullit manifolds worth of money into one manifold that gets terrible low end power.

I would definitely go with the Bullit if you found one for 350 no doubt. At that price I hope you already bought it. If you don't I will lol.

Last time I saw a Bullit for sale I think it was 900 plus. I have seen a few noname aluminum stock replacement manifolds on ebay for a couple hundred but can't speak for the quality. Might be able to port one maybe idk.

Already trying but waiting on a response. I found another for 400 but its in worse condition as a backup to this one, nothing a little wire brush cant fix though
