I'm at 860 rwhp and on the street keep destroying polyurethane contol arm bushings. Using correct grease but they are cracking and getting loose. Last set lasted 4k.

Currently solid bushings on rearend and polly on chassis. Thoughts on going solid both ends? I did this years ago on fox bodys and it destroyed the chassis. Nervous to do it on the shelby.

Thoughts or experiences appreciate

Thanks

The single rod end was enough for me not to go further. I'm back to poly on both ends. Who's arm are you using? Are you running drag radials?

Umi with solid at 1 end. Yes running drag radials. 11.8 wide "x 28.8 tall at 18 psi tire pressure. Hooks some of first and most always in second. Umi is giving me a second set of poly bushings but they said it is the last set the will give me. Might be a change the bushings at oil change interval type of deal.

Just make sure you don't use a fossil based grease. I've had good luck with something called Green Grease, which is synthetic. I'm not familiar with UMI and it may be that a different bushing design might last longer. Drag radials will give them a work out.

Are your UCA mounts (+ chassis bushing) holding up or cracking with that much rwhp?

Steeds is another option for poly lca’s and what I have run for years. I also run Steeda’s solid competition uca. This was their recommendation years ago for a part time drag racing setup.

I had solid / solid LCA's on my Camaros prior to the GT500. They never made a sound, contrary to other's experiences... So when I bought #1 in 2007, the second mod were solid / solid LCA's from the same company, Spohn. I had them on for 60k miles prior to selling the car. What was interesting was that these did make noise, sufficiently that I removed them when the car was on the market. When I picked up #2, it already had a pair of billet LCA's, so I never installed the Spohn's. If you want to try them out, I'll let them go for cheap. Mine are black, unlike what you see here:
