I'm looking for an SC kit so I figured I would ask this now. Is the accufab single blade TB worth it on FI engines over the stock TB? I've heard that it's better but only if you're FI and wanted to hear some opinions if it's worth the $350ish price or not.

Well, currently running an email tune from Mo's (which is excellent) however there's a place in NH I would be going too for an actual dyno tune and I haven't reached out yet since I don't even have a kit or anything, so I was just looking for some insight.

based on what I see on 99/01 Cobras and 03/04 Mach1s I would say no - way too many tuning/drivability issues for minimal gain. TBs make a HUGE difference on PD blowers, not as much with the others.

Im in the 700hp range with a stock tb still and was told to leave it be.

Yea, I don't plan to be quite that high with HP lol. I was kinda hoping that would be the answer as I've seen others also saying it's too much of a hassle with tuning and drivability with a single blade TB.

I picked one up for my 98, but I'm not putting it on until I'm ready for another tune.
My tuner/builder recommended it.
I run a 67mm turbo.

Lots of people don't like them, some tuners have issues, I've run ( 2 ) & had good results.
....................How does your tuner feel about them ??

for whatever reason the TBs made for the NA cars are a problem, far more issues than what they put out for the PD blower cars. Doesn’t seem logical but that’s how it’s been

Guess when I get a kit I'll have to ask the tuner then for his input.

Some early Accufab TBs had an issue with sticking blades. Mine didn't, though. Some guys back in 2003-2005 switched from Accufab to BilletPro for that reason.

My current Accufab would stick when I first bought my car. A couple changes and it's smooth as stock now.

I ran a stock TB on my 01 with a big bore stroker and F1A. Didn't seem to be a restriction. There's something about blowing the boost through that makes it less sensitive than a PD blower trying to suck it in. I'm sure someone knows the theory behind it, but I'm not that smart.
