Blower brackets?

Running a V1 TI. 3.1 with a overdrive 10 percent innovators west with the 8 rib conversion. 01 cobra full mods. I know I get belt slip at times. Also, the stretch from the alternator too the PS pump sucks. With the heavy tensioner American solutions at times when she gets loose and the throttle lets off quickly that slack on that side hops 1 rib on the PS pump (SOMETIMES so I think the pulley alignment is fine).

I was wondering what you guys use and how you set up your stuff. I need a solution to deal with the sporadic issues. I wish I could get my hands on a reichard racing AC delete. A different type of bracket or something that spans the front cover and adds a pulley between the alternator and the PS pump.

I think a couple people added an idler pulley between the pump and alternator. I couldn't tell you the details though.

I've had issues with my belt jumping on hard shifts as well, cruising around it is always perfectly fine with little to no belt dust. I'm planning on adding an idler between the alternator and ps pump. There's a bolt for the timing cover that makes a good place for an idler mount. I'm running a novi2k and 3 bolt timing cover but I believe the span between the alt and ps is the same.

I have an idler between the alternator and ps pump. It is an 8 rib spacer combined with the 96-99 stud mounted sc idler pulley and standoff.

Those of you running the extra idler on the timing cover between the alternator and ps pump do you happen to have a part number on the pulley? I made a standoff for an extra 76mm idler I had and it doesn't leave enough room between the idler and water pump for a belt. It looks like a 89114 dayco/duralast pulley should work but just curious if anyone else had input before ordering.

I noticed you have a 6rib on does it work with the 8rib? If so you still have the lathe? Possibly some free time?? I’ll pay lol. If not do you have the measurements so I can have someone make it? Greatly appreciated

I made it on my bench top lathe. I ended up using the dayco 89114 pulley with it which required a slightly different stand-off but seems to be working good so farView attachment 1701802

interesting, I had the same standoff but could never find an 8rib pulley that cleared the water pump either. I tried a 6 rib pulley there and it lasted like 20 miles before it was chewing 2 ribs off. Im with old01cobra, Id be down for a standoff if you wanted to make more

It will work just fine with an 8 rib belt, I'm just running a much cheaper 6 rib to verify alignment. It's easier to tell if it moves with an open rib on each side. I'm not sure I'll have time to make anymore for a while but they are really simple. I can pull it off to grab the dimensions in the next few days.

Alright guys pulled the belt off to install the rpm belt I had and took some measurements while it was apart. Everything shown in the attached along with a photo of the 8 rib belt on the idler. I made it from 1"od aluminum bar I had laying around and just cleaned up the od. I also included my napkin calculations on how this affects tension. It added about 10% more tension which on my setup with a 115.5" belt was just over 70% tension. Much higher than what gates recommends for the rpm but also the biggest rpm belt I could find so I might be sol for now. My pulley combination is f150 8 rib pulleys,10% od damper, 3.25 blower pulley and the extra idler.
