Hey guys wondering when is a good time or right time to run a billet crank sprocket on a turbo car? Is anyone running those or is more of a supercharger deal? thanks in advance.

It's not really needed. The one piece style crank sprockets like found on the '03 Cobra are not prone to breaking. Cloyes used to sell a billet piece for about $30 which I run, but that is now discontinued. MMR sells one for $170, which is WAY overpriced IMO. Keep your stock one.

You can take a chance on this one from Cloyes. The picture shows a billet piece, you can see the machining marks on it. Pick one up and let us know what you get in the box.

Cloyes Parts

It’s powdered metal :/
I called and talked with someone in tech last week with just that same question. Melling also got back to me with the same news a few days ago. I ordered one from Sealed Power that looks - from the stock photo - to be billet/forged so we’ll see. Cloyes billet sprocket will be my backup option if the Sealed Power turns out to be another cast gear.

Heads up - the Sealed Power billet crank sprocket has been discontinued. Just got an email from summit after I’d placed my order.

Ordered it today I’ll update the thread on what I actually receive. All the part numbers and description seem to match the correct billet part and jegs is mostly trust worthy so ‍I’ll try it

Bet it’ll look like this one ;)

Showed up about a week ago. Sure enough, a billet gear.

Tony

It’s the Cloyes S869HP
Hard to tell from that angle but there’s the shoulder on the backside
Did you buy from the same eBay seller listed above? That will be nice if they are making this again. I'm sure you already know this, but that gear will not work with your Accufab billet trigger wheel. I recently replaced my chewed up trigger wheel in car and had to use the three letter company billet wheel as I didn't want to pull everything apart.

why won’t the Accufab trigger wheel work with this gear?
