Ok, so i'm searching for an S281 wing for my Cobra, yet coming up with nothing but garbage. Tried ordering a cheap one from eBay and that had the huge screws screwed into it and none of the holes matched up. I know I COULD have drilled new ones and used a bunch of 2-sided tape to get it to attach right, but that seems a little hokey.

I was about to go through American Muscle for their cheaper wing which I guess they used to use Kaenen's wings but have since gone with this SpeedForm ones and after reading the reviews, it sounds like I'd be in the same boat i'm in right now. AM also has a more expensive one, but A. It's out of stock, and B. there's only 6 reviews on it and everyone seems to love it, yet no one says HOW it actually installs, i.e. does it install with screws or do you bolt it in like the Kaenen wing?

A quick Google search on Kaenen's wings netted results that most seemed to be happy with their product, and I would go through Kaenen but their site is down for construction, so dead-end there. Another forum suggested to go through Saleen directly, and I was about to do that but the lady in the office informed me that they're Urethane and that they need to be properly prepped by a body shop (which I would have do the painting on anything I would get anyway) and also have them install it because there's some kind of chemical that needs to be used to get the Urethane to not warp or crack I guess??

Basically, i'm looking for a wing that'll actually bolt on, not with hokey screws and having to make new holes to properly attach it. I like the way the factory one goes on with the studs coming out of the spoiler and then those nut washer things that secure it to the trunk lid. Does anyone have any pointers or some other manufacturer's that I may be missing? Thanks.

I would get one through Saleen, quality is likely better than on the 90s-2000's production vehicles. They typically crack and mine did even after being garage kept. I would settle for the chemical sealer and have no worries for later.

I have a t1 wing I might be willing to part with. However, you'll have to drill holes in the trunk lid.

I have a legit Saleen S281. Got it probably 16-17 years ago... The fitment on it is not what it should be, which is not uncommon for them. And the 2-bolt design with 3M tape sucks. I actually had a body shop modify mine to be a 4-bolt because I disliked it so much.

I'd hunt around for a Kaenen for a long time before I bought another Saleen wing.

The kaenen site has never worked ever lol, you need to call them and order it. I've had both wings the real saleen one is a p.o.s definitely needs to be worked to get correct fitment. The kaenen bolts right on to the factory holes and fits damn near perfect.

I decided to go with this one:

94-98 mustang spoiler

So we'll see how it fits and how it goes. They're apparently 6-12 weeks out, so it'll be a while. Plus it comes in black which will have to last for the time being until I can get it painted.

There are few products on the market that have the fit and finish of the Kaenan spoiler. Mine was a perfect fit and bolted right on. They didn't even prime or block it. It's damn near perfect. There was a guy on Youtube that was sort of denigrating me for suggesting he use it over the lumpy Saleen one that he had in his video, he responded "I won't use anything that's not ORIGINAL" #facepalm. As you've already discovered, the Saleen part is total garbage.

Yeah after talking to Saleen, the lady mentioned that they're some sort of polymer that would need to be "professionally prepped by a body shop" my guess is because it's gonna end up being a wavy, non fitting POS, that apparently would need to be drilled to fit, just like what I just got done sending back. I'll just have to wait the 6-12 weeks for mine to show up.

Finally received my spoiler the other day and just got a chance to put it on and boy is it a night and day difference from the cheap garbage I've bought before.

94-98 mustang spoiler

Took about 3 months for them to get it to me, but it looks like it was worth the wait. I highly recommend it. Fits like a glove.

You gotta be careful with them, they are not all shaped the same. Some are just fugly.

I have a Kaenan from many moons ago on my car.
