I’m glad there was nobody (like a kid) behind the driver.

Crazy you were only doing 35 and ate the car for lunch.

First thing I asked when I got out, I was afraid of a child being there. I have another photo where you can see my front wheel marks in his door as I tried to turn away from him.

The officer didn’t seem surprised in the least, nor the firefighter. Larger tires and twice the weight I’m sure played a role as well.

I had a lady pull out infront of my 08 Escape back in October while doing 40mph. I Remeber seeing her car and no road between my hood and the side of her truck as she stopped, then 3 pulses of abs before her curtain airbags deployed. Spun her full sized suv as I hit her almost square on the front axel and it kept spinning until it hit the passenger side of my Escape. It knocked my ass out, had a "grade 3 concussion"
My Air bag ripped most of the skin off the top of my left hand, and bracing all the weight on the brake and my right leg screwed it/my hip back and neck up. Was in pt through February. Still not settled, both vehicles were totaled. My escape looked like the trucks in the IIHS overlap test... my rear cover went flying as my truck basically stopped as soon as it hit hers. Hell a metal grill on my laptop in my laptop case was cracked too, and all the disks (cd/dvd) were broken into pieces.

Just have a dr check you out good, just incase. Day 3 the pain really hits.

That sounds brutal man, glad you were ok! I can handle pain fine, just want to cover my bases in case anything progressed later. I know I absorbed most of the impact with my arms, the seatbelt didn’t leave a trace which surprised the emt.

Actually at the doctor now. Feels like i did shoulder shrugs with a couple hundred pounds with my left.
You likely have a trapezius sprain...good call being proactive. I see people that wait months to get it looked at and it’s harder to treat once allowed to be inflamed and irritated so long. Hope that’s your only issue, glad you’re ok for the most part

Glad to hear you’re OK Junior00.

Hopefully you won’t have any post accident ailments and find a great replacement truck.

Ambulance chasing these days?

I know that was meant as a joke, but at 40 I’ve come to the realization that you take as much as you can from the folks screwing you. Most of us have probably lost far more to the dregs of society than we care to admit. I know I was taught to be fair, never take more than my share and put my head down and earn what I had. I’m gonna take them for everything I possibly can on this one. I paid cash for every part including the truck and did the labor, I’ll be damned if I’m gonna get screwed again.

Have you thought about getting into an older 4th Gen? The 3rd Gen’s look nice, but the 4th Gen Ram is much better. I owned two and they both were great trucks. The quality and ride was much better than a 3rd Gen.

It was a joke, but I agree with you. Twice insurance hasn't fought back when I'm getting screwed from a minor fender bender. Two years ago my wife took off from a stop and the person in front hit the brakes, she was on some ice and slid into them. 5mph crash scratched the rubber piece by the hitch on the guys f150 $700 in damage. Guys wife is trying to sue for $400k and my insurance is trying to settle with this ****. Found out from the guy who served the papers that she is doing this to three other people, and she already has pre existing conditions from other wrecks. I'm pretty sure it is a scam these people are running, but insurance is going to settle, so next time someone fender bends me I'm going to the hospital with lifelong neck and back injuries.

Yes, and I’ve not written them off the list. Just don’t like the fact I’ll have to delete or buy one deleted if in the future a crackdown truly comes. A clean 3rd gen still brings about the same or more money for the same miles it seems than a 07.5-11 or so. Plus, I still have a good many parts for a 3rd gen plus what I’ll have if I keep the truck which I plan too. Maybe buy a 4th gen and fix the 3rd. Who knows?

I have owned all Generations, except a 5th Gen, and the 4th Gen rode a d drove the nicest.
