I recently brought home an 03 Cobra convertible and have spent the last day removing the amplifiers and crazy amount of wiring. As I was getting to the front, I saw this little box with a flashing blue light just screwed into the underside of the steering column.

I’m guessing it’s some kind of aftermarket security system component? I can feel a little button on the back of it as well, but was unable to get a good picture of it.

Anyone have something like this?

Flux Capacitor. You need that.

Definitely a doofilator valve.

Both wrong. Blinker fluid regulator.

Could be attached to a GPS based alarm / vehicle locator.

I thought those were typically mounted behind a grille or elsewhere in the front bumper?

I think your guess is correct. It's some sort of reset or valet switch for an alarm.

Dealer installed aftermarket Karr alarm...

They often butcher the wires installing them,, a bit of work to rip it out

google "remove Karr alarm"

Are you going to remove it? Hope it isn't as much of a headache to remove as it seems from the info I found.

I’m going to request that the car audio installer fixing the rest of the audio mess remove it. As they also specialize in car alarms and the like, I’m hoping it goes smoothly.

They're audio specialists, so they should be able to satisfy your wiring needs. Keep us posted.
