What was the place everyone congregated on Westheimer? Miami Subs?

Sure was, right outside of the Beltway. We used to caravan up there from the Lake Jackson area. The seawall on the far side of Galveston was a jumping spot too for a while.

I grew up out in Katy and raced at Lonestar in Sealy when it was still just 1/8th mile.

Yep, we raced up there, Little River in Temple, Baytown, then the Fun Fords in Ennis and Baton Rouge.

Yep, or even cell phones to organize anything. Tuesday nights 11pm we rotated gas stations to meet up in Miami.

yup Miami Subs the hangout...we'd often race out past west oaks mall, at the time there was not much out there west of the mall... I'd hit up rankin, goodnight and airtex all the time as well. Man those were the days, mid/late nineties.
