I started to really want to get an 03/04 Cobra back in 2018 as far as making preparations to make it happen. The plan was to buy one in the spring time ( April - May ) of 2021 once my truck was fully paid off. Had one of those epiphany moments last summer with an 04 that I knew was for sale but was not being pushed hard as far as selling. I knew it would still not be around at this current time frame either way. Hit just about every single check box I wanted... was an 04 with charcoal interior, was one of the 5 colors I wanted, was a coupe, was basically stock other than a catback and K&N CAI Kit. Was a little bit higher mileage than what I originally wanted but being that I knew the owner for a very long time that was one thing I was willing to look past. I was not buying this as a collector car. its one to drive in nice weather during the summer and to mod and build a nice sold street car with.

Looking back on it now I was unsure if I should have gone through with it at the time but looking at the Terminator Cobra market currently it was the best choice I made when it came to buying one of these. The market section is absolute feast or famine and the other sources such as FB groups have them listed pretty high regardless of the prices holding steady or going up currently. I see so many WTB posts with people wishing they never sold the one they had and now in an incredibly tough spot with trying to find another one.

I would really hate to be looking to buy one right now. Guess all things happen for a reason and my F150 is still getting paid off in a relatively short time from now anyway. Congrats to those who have one or have kept them and for those thinking of selling......Dont.

I was lucky. I sold one last year and missed it and found another, for the same price with lower miles, on the FB marketplace just a few weeks later. Thank God I bought it when I did. Now, it's just crazy. The prices are high and they stay high and, like you said, tons of WTB posts.

The best is when you're at the gas station juicing her up and dude filling his family hauler yells "nice Terminator." Then proceeds to tell you how he had one, but let it go due to a growing family and is now kicking himself.

And/Or when people randomly offer to buy it from you. ha

Picked mine up last month. Always wanted one and now after 18 years of being out of the mustang game, I’m back. Picked up a 2003 black convertible that is bone stock other than exhaust. It’s got higher mileage but the interior is completely redone and brand new. It’s going to be a weekend cruiser and a fun toy to tinker with. It was hard finding one where they weren’t asking a fortune.

I'm glad I bought mine back in 2010! I got a good deal. 20k miles and paid 19,500.

Prices keep going up, that's a good thing. Even though having a second one would be nice.

I even would like to add 93 cobra to the stable. Those are expensive.

Congrats OP. The Terminators are fun cars, and its sad that a lot of the stuff that was around for them are gone. Ie, TF Wheels, SOS pods, fender rolling etc, etc.
I've often thought about dipping down back into a $25k car but honestly, happy with what I have now

I've had a couple people ask me how much for it. It really surprised me.

Yeah Ive had people ask me if its for sale when I gave zero indication of it being for sale to begin with. Honestly it is for sale, I never said for a reasonable price. I did a FB post in a local Mustang group we have asking about other Terminators that are in my state ( from what I can tell its less than 10 maybe even half that ) and some guy asked me what was done to it and he "May" be interested in buying it. I told him you are going to need deep pockets. He kept persisting and I told him he would need at least 3 times the current market value for me to even start thinking about selling it......the conversation quickly died after that

Would be really nice to add a second one but if I did I would want it to be a low mileage one as a collector but those are getting really expensive, plus the fact that they are just too fun to drive to let them just sit.

Oh and side note I'm finally taking mine out this weekend for the first time this year, cant wait!

Yeah I been looking for a silver, dark red or white vert for a while. Finally found one stock with a little higher mileage. Didn't cost me my left nut though. These cars are just getting harder and harder to find. The prices on gt500s don't help either. The 07-12 cars weren't to bad, then the 13-14 started getting a little to high imo. Now the new gt500s are just ridiculous expensive. Kind of priced out of reach for most people.

I also bought another terminator last summer (June 2020). I owned one back in the day (2005-2007) and absolutely loved the car. It was a 03 Silver Metallic 10th Anniversary Coupe. I was young and stupid and getting in a lot of trouble with the car. I made the decision to sell it knowing that I would buy another a few years down the road. Then life happened... Got married, bought a house had two kids, etc. Fast forward to 2019 and I was finally in a position where I could get another. took about 8 months to find the right car and I pulled the trigger as soon as I found it.

I'm happy I got it when I did, as I am seeing the market take off a little bit. Mine is a 2003 Oxford White Coupe. Bought it with 33k on the clock. It has a 2.6 Kenne Bell on it. Paid $22,000 for it and found it listed on facebook marketplace one town over from where I live. Felt like it was meant to be

If I had your car I wouldn't let it go for a Terminator, either. Keep it, and enjoy it.

OP, you're one of many who are more than happy with their '03 or '04 Cobra. They're definitely fun to drive, pump up the adrenalin, and the cost to get one keeps climbing. I miss my old '03 Cobra at times, but it was time to move on to other things. My heart does beat a bit faster whenever I see one on the street, which is really rare. Enjoy it this summer up there in Maine. My wife and I will be vacationing up there in July for almost 3 weeks (Bar Harbor, Boothbay Harbor and Ogunquit). Maybe I'll spot you if you're on the coast. ;)

I guess I should drive mine. It'll be 19 yrs old in July with 20K on it.

It was Terminator owners like you that really inspired me to nab a 13/14 Shelby up and do it one last time for the long haul. I've always been envious of the guys who bought and have held their Cobras.

Thanks @CobraBob for the kind compliment

I wish I hadn't sold my Black 10th vert a few years ago, it was in near-perfect shape. I bought it to drive while my coupe was down getting it's new setup built but then sold it because it was so damn noisy with the top up. I should have held on to it and did some chassis mods to quiet it down a bit.

I'm not around that area too often but if you happen to go around the portland area at all I'm not far from there.

I feel very lucky to have found my stock black one. Gets delivered this week! Has been a dream car since college
