Anyone watched it yet? I just finished it and damn, this should have been the original movie! The ending is badass and it with the 4+hr runtime it goes into so much more detail and expands on each of the characters, giving them each a proper storyline. They should really just erase any record of Joss Wheadon's version of it. I'd definitely recommend it because it is a completely different movie.

I don't get how he could have all of the material that is in The Snyder Cut and just cut out and throw away so much of it. I get the time constraints but there are so many things that should have been in the original that weren't.

When a picture is released in a theater studios want as many showings as possible through out the day. The longer the cut, the less showings. The less showings, the less money. Why do you think BR cuts tend to get increased footage? So much extra footage is redundant or doesn't add anything further to the plot or what was touched on with the edited film.

I wasn't talking about it being longer. The Snyder Cut is almost entirely different. There are only a handful of scenes that carry over between the two so what I'm saying is Wheadon's reshoots made the movie considerably worse than what Snyder had.

What one person thinks is important to the sequence of the film isn't going to be the same as the other guy.

Either way though, "having all of the material in the Snyder cut" and using it would not be feasible. Superman II comes to mind.

Overall, I enjoyed it and I also enjoyed the Whedon version. I felt there was a couple scenes pulled from the Whedon version that could have been a little longer. Same with the both movies, I wish Superman had more screen time vs just being revived and knocking a dude out, end of movie.

The ending... Good things coming!!!

Thanks for this heads up. We have HBO Max so I'll watch it on that. Just bummed out that it has a 4:3 aspect ratio. I watched the trailer and thought it was widescreen. So I just checked the trailer again and I'll be damned it's also 4:3. I did not even notice the first time.

Since it is 4:3 I might just watch this on my 100" projector screen. Only issue is my projector can only do 1080P and HBO Max supports 4K. But I doubt I would notice the difference.

More Superman would have been cool, but his entrance and the ensuing fight with Steppenwolf was 10 times better than the original movie, and it was actually really brutal in comparison.

Also, I really want to see a proper movie with Deathstroke in it now.

Watched it last night and loved it! Makes so much more sense and actually captured me in some of the suspenseful moments. Will definitely watch it again and hopefully forget the "other" one never existed. Definitely worth the watch. It is long, but they broke it up into acts that give you good break spots.

The 4:3 ratio is the original way it was shot for IMAX. It wouldn't be a wider field in a theatrical version , they would just crop it down to that ratio. So, you are actually seeing more of the movie than what you would see in say 16:9 or such.

On anther note, I am 2 hours in, and they still haven't got to a certain pivotal resurrecting moment of the original. I am really enjoying it, and if this is what we would have originally received, even cut down a bit... The DC universe would be on par with MCU.

I loved how the story centered around Cyborg, and how it also gave The Flash much more screen time and made his character essential to the story as well. The first movie mostly portrayed them as extras that wouldn't have made a difference if they were there or not, but in this movie they never would have succeeded without either character.

I agree. Different tone than anything Marvel offers but different is good in this case. The second half of the movie is by far the highlight of the movie though!

Anyone else find it funny they cast the creator of the Terminator as the guy who created Cyborg? Guy needs to stop with the robits. When is the Batman vs Terminator spinoff?

I started it last night, pretty good. I like the extra material but definetly a scene or two I felt dragged on longer than needed with no real gain.

Yeah, they should have broken that into two parts for theater release. That was soooo much better.

that back and forth between Batman and Joker...awesome! Those dreams Bruce has are brutal as ****, wonder if that is what flashpoint is going to put in motion. Ben Affleck better come back after this damnit.
