With all the shake up in the tuning world been looking at options to learn and tune myself. Is anyone using a stand alone unit on our cars? I did find this one Holley offers. Sounds like it has a lot of bells and whistles. Holley- HP EFI 4V Modular 4.6/5.4 System How easy is this something like this to learn and use? The more I thought about it it seemed like maybe spending a bit up front may save a lot down the road. Having the ability to retune myself after future mods is a big plus to me.

I did see a couple things on the AEM unit. I had run across a thread on the GT500 Forum that that people noted AEM dropping some support for the mod motor vehicles.

I run holley but even still there are a ton of tuners that can help with that. The best part is they setup the map and that’s about it. No need for retunes. My map is setup for 30psi. So I can swap pulleys all around and never have to change tunes. Widebands correct any small thing in milliseconds. It’s the best lol. So much more control for data logging too

I run AEM. No jumper harness that I know of for a GT500. There is a company that will make you a conversion harness, but I can’t recall their name.

This is exactly what I am wanting to accomplish! Thank you for the input!

Fun tidbit. I emailed JPC about their Holley setup and they flat out told me they wouldn't sell it to me if it was for a street car. This crap is getting out of control.

That is likely the reason. A few years ago, I had to take (and pass) a knowledge based training from SCT that asked a lot of questions about emissions. Doing this allowed me to continue having calibrator status (full access). Otherwise, I would have been downgraded to user status, which gives you access to only the basics.
