I think you're confused on term usage. Ford allows plant managers, executives, etc to drive vehicles. Those vehicles are ordered, and delivered to a dealership of the end user's choice. These vehicles are not regularly allocated vehicles, nor do dealerships earn money or future allocations from facilitating a delivery to the end user. I suppose a CFHP GT500 could possibly fall under this category, however I doubt it, and the run of CFHP is CERTAINLY not limited to only this type of order.

Wow. I appreciate your more detailed explanation of corporate sales. I have seen these cars for 40 years, executives driving a new product every year. This is not what I am referring to.

This is just outlandish. Yes, A/Z/X/D Plan Pricing is a set price based on the vehicle, trim line and optional equipment. You are speaking way out of sorts. A Plan buyer can go into ANY dealership they choose, pick out ANY vehicle they want (minus Shelby, Raptor), and that vehicle has a Plan Price printed on the invoice. At that point, the buyer just calls a 1-800 number, gives them their name, address, last four of social and boom, a 7 digit PIN is generated that allows the dealership to recoup the discounts. Your statement saying "sometimes they are even given additional allocations" is 100% bullshit as well. Whether you sell a vehicle for A Plan, $100k over MSRP, $50k under MSRP, etc...it still counts towards your future allocation. If your local dealership used to handle Plan deals through their Fleet Sales Office, that was a personal choice by your dealership, and has nothing to do with any other dealership on the planet. I'm 15 minutes from the Kansas City F-150 Plant, and 90% of our new vehicle business is A/Z Plan business. It's just a normal deal, just with 0 negotiation.

I think we are mostly saying the same thing. I have personally purchased many A Plan vehicles over the years. I always go through the Corporate Office and receive a PIN before even walking into a dealership door. I have always been advised to bypass Sales Staff and go directly to the GSM. Submit/Sign order, 3% under the dealer cost, and lowest Ford Credit Interest Rate offered if I should choose not to pay cash. I am assured that dealerships make money through rebates and future allocations.

As far as the "VIP sale" you speak of, it's actually called a Courtesy Delivery in real life. Dealerships DO NOT make money doing these. But why would a dealership refuse to do it for a Ford executive of some sort? They wouldn't. We do about 20 a year with the various plant managers in the area, their wives and some of the big wigs at the local Ford Credit branch. There are NO sales contracts on courtesy delivery vehicles, period. They're all done through Ford Motor Company. The delivering dealership does get tags for the vehicle, the vehicle is tagged to Ford Motor Company. A Plan is COMPLETELY different. A Plan, the customer buys the vehicle in their name. All Ford Motor Company employees qualify for A Plan, whether you're making $12/hour on the line just starting out, or making $6mil a year. These are normal deals. No different than if a random customer walked in and wanted to buy a vehicle off of the lot.

I think you are confused with term "VIP". I have purchased VIP cars in the past, and one was produced at the FRAP yesterday. It is not a "Courtesy Delivery", but a VIP car which is sold directly to a buyer, placed in their name, Local Sales Contract, taxed, registered and licensed. No limitations on options and it does not affect existing dealership allocations. I have even seen offerings of "one of the first cars built" which means a very low Chassis Number. I personally was in a meeting when a Ford Executive stated this was a "Non-allocated VIP Purchase", to which the Dealership GSM reconfirmed.

All A/Z/X Plan deals go through sales staff. Would it blow your mind if I told you that dealerships made more money off of A/Z/D/X Plan deals than they do off of regular retail deals? Well, BOOM. It's true. On a regular F-150 retail deal, we'll make about $1,000 or so. On an A Plan deal, we'd be able to sell the truck for $1,800+ less, and make an additional $1200, so $2,200.

Courtesy Delivery vehicles are not allocated. They are not sold. Dealerships don't make money off of them. They do not count towards current or future allocation. Nothing. They basically show up, get filled with gas, tags on it, and get picked up. Done.

VIP vehicles are also not allocated, but they are sold to customers and the dealership still makes money similar to the A Plan. And the relationships that are built are beneficial to the entire industry.

I wish you luck. And I am very impressed that you were able to secure a personal GT500 allocation. I can attest that owning one is a life changing experience!

I am glad you are willing to have a civil conversation representing Ford. And so are my many Ford friends.

I wonder if the number of Exposed Carbon Fiber Wheel Blems have anything to do with the amount of CFHP cars that are produced.

If they are relying on blems as a source for the painted carbon fiber wheels, that would make sense.

Earl, I agree on this. I was speculating this long ago too. I think this is an outlet for blem wheels worth $X,XXX that were going in the dumpster. Maybe the quality control is getting better hence why Ford originally stated the number of CFTP would go up for 2021 (that was before the limitations now).
