If the EPA called you and said, stop making these products or we will retroactively look at past sales and who you sold them to...you would make the hard decision and try to keep your company alive.

No, I wouldn't. Nor is that what it appears is happening here. As long as the company is not breaking the law, there's no real consequence here that I can see. Last I checked, companies aren't required to verify that those sales are being installed on off road vehicles. It seems to me that the company in this case is seeing media reports of the EPA cracking down, or a trade association report of the same, or is hearing through the grapevine "rumors" of crackdowns. But, I haven't heard of a single instance of the EPA suing or prosecuting an aftermarket parts supplier for selling off road parts that somehow make their way onto the streets. Maybe there are instances.

I don't think we know what has been recently happening behind the scenes. They didn't stop making product based off of a media report.

Well it must be a credible threat if companies are pulling products. I suspect they would not do this based on "rumors".

From what I’ve heard and whom I’ve spoken with it’s precautionary measure taken to stay out of bad press or potential issues down the road.

I guess I should probably catless ARH headers for my Viper soon.......
I don't think you'll be able to find any. Maybe you will.
And if you do, you definitely won't find a tuner to tune for them. Unless they don't mind paying out hefty fines and possibly more.

This entire thing all of a sudden had been a huge knee-jerk of a reaction. The .gov won’t even have to pass laws if people are over-policing themselves. This is like the run on toilet paper, lots of information is spread around sprinkled on with truth to get people scared, worked up, confused.

Wtf you waiting for? Get on it!

I just took my headers off my race car, im going to run open ports in protest even though nobody around here cares about exhaust systems.

I just messaged SW if they can still sell catless headers to Canadians. Hopefully they can.

Maybe, instead of pounding that bird chest of yours, you could read and comprehend what is on the EPA’s website regarding this. Which, if you can read and comprehend, actually states that labeling something off-road or competition use only does not matter in their eyes. They state that any device that defeats factory emissions components on any VIN’d vehicle is illegal; regardless of how that vehicle is used.

But since you are baller, have you offered SW or any other company your full bank roll of their fight against the man? To take sole responsibility for any action taken against them? Come on Billy, put that on your shoulders.

Joe Biden has sniffed here.

I can see it now, there will be deep web .onion sites where people buy/sell/trade catless midpipes and headers.

Listen little F'tard. I said I wasn't aware of any prosecutions. Post up examples if you're so inclined. If the EPA is allowed to go around just threatening instead of litigating, they'll leverage themselves across this country and impose their will. We need less people like you that with the mere threat of it being against the law just run and hide, and more people who stand up for their convictions.
