You are reading way to much into this, my friend. Don't take it personal, we're just having a conversation here.

  • Point is, anyone can order an allocated 2021 GT500 Base Model with optional CFHP or Painted Stripe, provided the dealership has at least a base allocation.
  • As you know, when an accepted order is classified as "Unscheduled/Clean", it is considered buildable with no Commodity Issues.
  • As you also know, Regions pace acceptance of orders that are "Sent to Plant", not necessarily accepting all of your allocations at one time.
Scheduling occurs throughout the MY to account for pace, capacity, and commodities. So acceptance of your current CF orders are delayed, there is always the next week. I just got off the phone with the GSM of my local dealership and he states that he does not have any current GT500 Commodity Restrictions.

So I don't know what else to say, other than I am sure you are as just as excited to receive your 2021 GT500 as I am!

RR
So, you're saying that CFHP and/or painted stripes are readily available for anyone that's obtained a base order?

Out of the 1675 VINs issued to date, only 31 were CFHP cars and 18 of those are going to Canada.

Whoa… I did not think the Liberal “Cancel Culture” had infiltrated SVT Performance! It has not been my intent to be argumentative nor defensive, only to have a constructive conversation for the benefit of all.

Regarding any potential name calling, all Dealership Staff, Performance Partners and especially Ford Company employees that I have been associated with over the years have always been professional and polite always holding themselves to the highest industry standard. The development of internal/external relationships and development of trust are paramount to both the mission and long term success of these companies. In no way would they ever allow anyone to enter into a derisive or argumentative debate which may negatively reflect upon the company or industry.

I apologize if we got off on the wrong foot. If you disagree with a post, simply and politely disagree. That is what these message board are all about, to share information and develop relationships with others within our mutual hobbies and interests. Definitely posts should not be taken personal.

That said,

***Latest info from Regional Rep today: The CFHP (67Q) is not available for ordering for most dealers, unless a VIP Order. Base allocations can have the HP (67K) without Carbon Fiber. This is not inclusive of CFTP (67J) Allocations.

I waited to communicate directly with my Regional Rep to have the most current information, as up to this point she has not been totally clear. Apparently I am incorrect that CFHP is currently available to everyone (only VIPs), only the HP is available without CF. What she did not say was if this was due to temporary controlled Commodity issues or permanent. Outside of this, it was clarified they no longer use the term "Golden Ticket". Only allocated GT500 Base cars and allocated GT500 CFTP cars.

Again, word on the street is that Ford will only produce 2500-3000 2021 MY GT500 cars due to an Industry-wide Semi-Conductor shortage. Available chips will be pushed to 2021 MY Bronco and F150 production. In spite of this, I am definitely happy that my 2021 GT500 is almost produced!

I hope your sales career is exceptional, your dealership flourishes and you develop many positive relationships in the future. And I hope you will enjoy your new 2021 GT500 as much as I am currently enjoying my 2020 MY.

Cancel Culture, eh?

No, just saying that you're knowingly/unknowingly posting incorrect information, that's all.

Glad you came in, ate crow, and corrected yourself. No hard feelings.

There is a member, with a VIN, on another forum that has a CFHP car waiting to be built.
Here is a picture of his future car.

Very glad you have corrected yourself. There is alot more that goes on in the back that many know very little amount. Including most sales people. Normally GM and involved owners know alot of what is actually going on.

The Golden Ticket BS rubbed me the wrong way from the moment I heard it. I was on board for a 500 far in advance of the program ever being acknowledged but I sensed there would be some ****ery to come down the pike and sure enough, there was. And now to see mention that only a "VIP" can get a CFHP? More bullshit.

I wonder what the logic is in the "VIP" restriction for CFHP?

And, didn't I see something back when it was announced about this also involving Shelby American or Team Shelby? This was also in the same time-frame it was noted this would be a very limited package, as in 200 units or less.

Should be allocated by lottery then and not just "elite" buyers.

It is limited lottery, limited allocations.

The VIP has nothing to do with the end consumer ordering the vehicle. It's not like the FGT program.

It has everything to do with that specific dealership getting a CFHP allocation or not. Rather than VIP it should be SCLAPSD (Super Crazy Limited Allocation Per Specific Dealership). VIP is very misleading.

I see and yes, it is indeed misleading.

I just don't like seeing small dealerships never getting a chance as it seems as though Ford doesn't scale and allocates simply by sales numbers (which mean squat if the car(s) you sold wasn't originally your allocation as you have seen yourself, Nick).

Absolutely, VIP sales have nothing to do with end consumer retail sales. In my experience, they are invited/approved by upper levels of Ford and are considered non-allocated production and sales having no ADM, similar to A Plan. Dealerships are required to facilitate the VIP order and retail purchase. At the end of the day, it "should" have no impact on the retail consumer unless it creates a Commodity Restriction.

My understanding is that Ford allocates the GT500 by previous MY Total Allocated Mustang Sales Numbers beyond one Base Model when registered. And when a dealership "purchases an allocation", sales credit is retained by the originating dealership. Retail sales are rewarded by Ford. Maybe 13COBRA can verify this.

My take on the CFHP Restriction: Is it a Commodity issue? Or is it an attempt to create exclusivity and open the door for long term aftermarket production and sales? In my opinion, likely the latter. It was not originally made clear that there would be restrictions on CF outside of the CFTP when the January 7th Order Banks opened.

I wonder if the number of Exposed Carbon Fiber Wheel Blems have anything to do with the amount of CFHP cars that are produced.

If they are relying on blems as a source for the painted carbon fiber wheels, that would make sense.

Do you work at a dealership at some level, or where do you think you come up with this stuff?

As far as upper level management assigning these....false. They DEFINITELY are allocated just like every other car, with the exception of the FGT.
No ADM does not equal A Plan haha
Dealerships are not required to facilitate VIP orders.

GT500 allocation is based off of previous GT500 sales experience, Mustang sales experience, Ford lineup sales experience. Whichever dealership registers the sale of the vehicle to the end consumer, gets the retail sales mark and count by Ford. If a car is traded 487 times, the last dealer that has it and sells it to a consumer, gets the mark, period.

What world do you live in? It was DEFINITELY clear when the order banks opened that the CFHP would be limited, much like the CFTP...and has been referenced multiple times since that it would indeed have a smaller production run than the CFTPs.

It's an excellent way to get rid of blemished CFTP wheels.

No, I do not work for a dealership. I am only a Ford Enthusiast like most on this board. A very well connected enthusiast who has purchased and collected Ford vehicles over many years.

All VIP orders come from the Corporate Office. They originate from corporate areas such as Ford Performance, US Field Operations, Executive Offices or higher. VIP orders are always at MSRP, but I have personally seen prices negotiated with dealerships well below that. These are non-allocated and in addition to the set dealership allocations.

A Plan Vehicles are generally the same having a price set at 3% under the Dealer cost. They can be generated directly through the Corporate Office once a qualified buyer receives a confirmation PIN. In return, Dealerships are given money on the back-end in addition to a rebate from Ford. Sometimes they are even given additional allocations. A Plan sales for the buyer used to always be through the back Fleet Sales office, but are now generally handled through the Front Sales Office usually directly with the General Sales Manager. Specialty vehicles, (such as the GT500, Raptor, etc.), are not included in A Plan Pricing.

GSMs tend to jump at the opportunity to to facilitate both VIP and A Plan sales. A Dealership would be crazy to turn away any business in which they would make money. And the relationships built often makes them even more money down the road. All VIP and A Plan sales must go through a dealership to facilitate end sales contracts, taxes, licensing, etc. I would think that Ford would frown upon dealerships not facilitating these type of sales for the convenience of their customers. Admittedly, these usually do not go through General Sales Staff as there is minimal or no commission.

And yes, you are correct. Purchasing and selling an allocation gives credit to the end dealership. That is probably why my local dealership has had an allocation increase this year to 16-20 GT500s, (not including VIP cars), depending on actual production. And they will probably buy another 20-30 allocations. Yes, they move that many Ford Performance vehicles, as well as considerable numbers of Shelby, Saleen, Roush, Tuscany, etc.

Again, VIP and A Plan vehicles are non-allocated and should have no impact on retail sales. There are other issues, such as Commodity Restrictions or residual business planning, that could have an impact.

I think you're confused on term usage. Ford allows plant managers, executives, etc to drive vehicles. Those vehicles are ordered, and delivered to a dealership of the end user's choice. These vehicles are not regularly allocated vehicles, nor do dealerships earn money or future allocations from facilitating a delivery to the end user. I suppose a CFHP GT500 could possibly fall under this category, however I doubt it, and the run of CFHP is CERTAINLY not limited to only this type of order.

A Plan Vehicles are generally the same having a price set at 3% under the Dealer cost. They can be generated directly through the Corporate Office once a qualified buyer receives a confirmation PIN. This is just outlandish. Yes, A/Z/X/D Plan Pricing is a set price based on the vehicle, trim line and optional equipment. You are speaking way out of sorts. A Plan buyer can go into ANY dealership they choose, pick out ANY vehicle they want (minus Shelby, Raptor), and that vehicle has a Plan Price printed on the invoice. At that point, the buyer just calls a 1-800 number, gives them their name, address, last four of social and boom, a 7 digit PIN is generated that allows the dealership to recoup the discounts. Your statement saying "sometimes they are even given additional allocations" is 100% bullshit as well. Whether you sell a vehicle for A Plan, $100k over MSRP, $50k under MSRP, etc...it still counts towards your future allocation. If your local dealership used to handle Plan deals through their Fleet Sales Office, that was a personal choice by your dealership, and has nothing to do with any other dealership on the planet. I'm 15 minutes from the Kansas City F-150 Plant, and 90% of our new vehicle business is A/Z Plan business. It's just a normal deal, just with 0 negotiation.

As far as the "VIP sale" you speak of, it's actually called a Courtesy Delivery in real life. Dealerships DO NOT make money doing these. But why would a dealership refuse to do it for a Ford executive of some sort? They wouldn't. We do about 20 a year with the various plant managers in the area, their wives and some of the big wigs at the local Ford Credit branch. There are NO sales contracts on courtesy delivery vehicles, period. They're all done through Ford Motor Company. The delivering dealership does get tags for the vehicle, the vehicle is tagged to Ford Motor Company. A Plan is COMPLETELY different. A Plan, the customer buys the vehicle in their name. All Ford Motor Company employees qualify for A Plan, whether you're making $12/hour on the line just starting out, or making $6mil a year. These are normal deals. No different than if a random customer walked in and wanted to buy a vehicle off of the lot.

All A/Z/X Plan deals go through sales staff. Would it blow your mind if I told you that dealerships made more money off of A/Z/D/X Plan deals than they do off of regular retail deals? Well, BOOM. It's true. On a regular F-150 retail deal, we'll make about $1,000 or so. On an A Plan deal, we'd be able to sell the truck for $1,800+ less, and make an additional $1200, so $2,200.

Again, VIP and A Plan vehicles are non-allocated and should have no impact on retail sales. There are other issues, such as Commodity Restrictions or residual business planning, that could have an impact.

Again, YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.

Courtesy Delivery vehicles are not allocated. They are not sold. Dealerships don't make money off of them. They do not count towards current or future allocation. Nothing. They basically show up, get filled with gas, tags on it, and get picked up. Done.

A/X/Z/D Plan vehicles ARE allocated. They do count towards retail sales. They do count towards current and future allocations.

With all due respect, I sure hope you're more versed in putting out fires than you are speaking about Ford's allocation system. I've seen some of your posts on 6G as well. Just stop.
