- Diesel/HD/MD trucks are far away from ever being replaced.
- It'll take 30 years for EVs to constitute a large chunk of the light duty/car market.
- EV cars will predominately be in the suburban/city areas either way
I'll continue to daily drive my 7.3L Tremor even if fuel hits $10/gallon, just to stick it in everyone's face.
OP I have a really similar plan. 250 7.3 is definitely the route I want to go. I hope to god gas stays around for a long time. Unreal how in a matter of weeks a group of crazy democrats and flip our lives and passions on its collective ear
I’ll agree we need alternative energy sources... we actually had one called keystone pipe line. USA does a better job than most of the world in terms of carbon emission yet other countries aren’t held to the same standards we are.

People still race horses. Gasoline and diesel will be around at least until 2045. Average age of vehicles now on the road is 12 years. Figure ICE gone at 2030 still leaves ICE cars on the road for 15 years. Specialty vehicles, back country(think logging) heavy equipment, generators will all still need fuel. It will be awhile.

Oil companies are already shutting down their deep sea rigs.
It will be a race between the oil companies transitioning to other battery tech/mfg and leaving the gas business. But even they cannot tell which way the wind is blowing these days.
I tend to think the change in infrastructure from gas to electric will take some time.
And I still have trouble seeing where battery technology will go. Batteries need to get way better and way cheaper.
It is going to be messy no matter what.
