Way to go Ford. This has been going on for well over a decade now.

In fact, all three of these have been known for over a decade:

Failed front hubs

Failed throttle body.

Death wobble.

Drrrrrrrrr......

All three of those are super hit or miss.

Out of my last 21 trucks, I've only had one with the death wobble.

A new steering damper should not solve the underlying cause of death wobble, it will mast it though.

Need king pins on that Dana 60.

I don't disagree completely, but it's definitely solved the issue on 6 trucks that are customers of mine. You could routinely get them to act up on command, now you can't even if you try.

also... better tires helped.

Ours all “ did it “ but the ones that did it quicker were on factory tires. Mine didn’t do it til almost 70k miles

As one who has a 2017, I have followed this subject since I got mine. I have never had any DW, when it was stock or after the Carli leveling install. Most people have fixed it with the previously mentioned castor change. Most of the other suggestions will mask it, also mentioned earlier. But pay attention to your tire balance and worn parts, both will move a well aligned truck (at whatever settings that may be) out of alignment.

Mine is a death wobbling POS. I have had it in so many times for this it isn’t funny. The dealers keep throwing track bars and steering stabilizers at it, but they are only temporary solutions. They work for a few thousand miles and it’s back to being a wobbling pos again.

I’d say the death wobble is the least common but the throttle body and front hubs is almost regular.

Both when I was a tech and I’ve been in Ford PU for work since 2007.

Surprising that down in Texas you see issues with the front hubs. I was always led to believe that was much more prevalent up North.

Not really apples to apples, but I had death wobble really bad on my old lifted 2002 F250, on 37s. I literally replaced everything from the steering box to the hubs and it never went away. Ultimately I ended up "covering it up" with a dual steering stabilizer kit and it never happened again.

What I will say on my 2019..

It’s been through 3 SETS of batteries and multiple alternators in the 82k miles.. not sure why the battery charging system is garbage

One of our Tx f250s the 4wheel drive has literally said **** it.

turns the knob.. and the truck literally will not move in anything but 2wd

None of my 3 F250s ever had this.

Although my 2012 would get pretty unsettled in the front end hitting good bumps on my drive to work, it went away 100% when I put a set of Fox shocks on it.

There's a recall out for the front stabilizer bar, it's 100% fixed 6 that I know of.

Can you tell me more about this recall? The only thing that I have been informed of is the extended service action which is replacing the steering stabilizer.

Thanks for reading my thread BTW. I was hoping you might know something on Fords end that most of us would not have access to.

Edit: Tapatalk was being a little goofy. The thread stopped at your post for some reason while I was reading thru. It showed your post being the last post. Sorry.

I replaced my steering stabilizer with a Fox stabilizer. It made the bump steer better but not fixed. Two times now, I have had the death wobble at 70 mph +. It happened Saturday night, with the wife, kids and beat friend in the truck with me. My wife says she won’t drive my truck until I know this is fixed.

The first time it happened, the truck shaked so hard I’m surprised it didn’t crack the windows. I’ve owned nothing but dodge/ram 3/4 Ton trucks until this ford. Never had death wobble once in any of those trucks and the ball joints on two of them were toasted at one point before being replaced. Never once had death wobble.
