So i know its a long shot. I own the #2 Cobra, for a number of years now. This car was in the possession of Ford Motor Co for the first 10 years (used for management drives, press requests, and some pacing) and went to auction in 2009 at B-J. My understanding is Ford still owns #1. Best i can tell it change hands twice until i purchased it, both dealers. I have the SVT letter certifying the #2 car with the VIN i offered. I've been in contact with SVT and they do not have the owners binder/metal tag etc. The first dealer that presumably won the auction is out of business and so i cannot get an answer. The 2nd dealer does not have it. It seems crazy the owners binder can come up missing in the few transactions that have occurred. I have to wonder if Ford misplaced it in 10 years time. But maybe there was been a private owner somewhere i am not aware of? At some point in the near future i may sell the car so i'm hoping this can turn up. Thanks for any input or further advice.

Congratulations on finding and buying #2. I've always loved the 2000 Rs. I saw another of your posts this morning and wrongly thought that it was #2 of a 2003 Cobra. Again, congrats! Hope you find what you're looking for.
That could have been its demise there. Dealer closed, tossed the binder with the other stuff on the shelf, that was thought to be irrelevant.
