Well guys as some of you may already know next week I’m ordering a D1-SC 3 core intercooled procharger. I’m pretty pumped to say the least. I think I may buy a teksid block and start buying the parts I need to build a forged bottom end and hopefully by next winter I can have it together and swap it in. I’m ready to go next level and make some serious power. This car is gonna be bad ass considering I have done just about every mod imaginable to this car. It’s really cool to be able to piece together my dream car a little at a time and to think it all started with a 35k mile 11 k 2001 cobra. Terminator what terminator who!! Lol

What’s you power goals? Just remember it not just the shortblock you have to worry about. Its also the clutch, trans, IRS (or solid swap) once you start making power. I’m talking 550+. Tires are a big one as well. Get the funds together man. My built shortblock alone was 8k. Just giving you some food for thought. These are a solid platform to start with if you want a special build.

My goal is 600 rwhp. My current set up is a McLeod 700hp clutch, aluminum drive shaft, Ford racing diff cover, complete full tilt boogie bushing kit with the cross axis bushings, bilstien b8 rear shocks, and eibach lowering springs. My gearing is 410 and I had posi clutches put in with them. Oh and I have the stifflers full length welded fit system as well as 295 40 18 555g2 nittos in the rear . I’m hoping that’ll give me a solid platform to put down my power goal. Time will hopefully tell.

That's a real solid start. Only thing I would be concerned about is the long term is the trans. They are rated at 360ftlbs but that is fairly conservative. If you don't plan on beating the piss out of it or racing it every weekend you should be fine for quite awhile. Good luck. Get a build thread going once you start.

Will do I have a breakdown of my mods on my YouTube channel Badaz01. I went over everything except the 340 lph fuel pump. Forgot about it in all the confusion lol.

The 3650 can live as long as you don't beat on it. I had one live behind a big bore stroker for quite a while. But that set up never saw the track and if I was going to get on it I usually started from a roll in 2nd.

Ditch the G2's. They're good now, but as soon as you put the blower on you'll be in spin city. I spun like crazy with the little eaton. Food for thought...when I first put the D1 on my 01 it was pretty much stock. I was running BFG's, but don't remember which ones. One of the KDW line ups. Anyway, I'm getting on the freeway and realized I need to goose it to be able to merge. Next thing I know I'm looking at traffic through my passenger side window. The car broke loose very quickly. I exited the freeway and went straight to Discount Tire to order a pair of drag radials.

I’ll have to consider that after I run em bald I don’t even have 50 miles on them yet. One concern I have about drag radials is how good so they corner?

I believe there may be other options to look at but I run R888Rs on my Mach 1 so I can handle a corner and have some kind of prayer for straight line traction (mid to high 600s so 2nd gear is still a road surface and tire temp crap shoot)

I've been running 555R's for the better part of a decade and it wasn't until recently I felt I might need a more handling oriented tire. That's mainly because I've been running with a lot of imports through the canyons. My cousin in law's S6 has probably given me the most trouble. One of the last times I went out a guy with an R32 made a comment that fox platform Mustangs can't handle. I'm sure he was surprised when every time he looked into his rear view mirror I was right there.

I can say this for sure. With the complete suspension over haul I wouldn’t hesitate to enter the twisties with just about anything. I noticed after all was said and done there is a turn I hit regularly when I drive around the horn and before when I went into it at about 60 I could feel my hip putting pressure on my door panel somewhat. The day I came out of the shop I hit the same turn same speed and my body didn’t budge. It’s almost scary but I swear if I had the balls I feel like the car could handle 100 mph around that turn.
