Hello Guys, My 2.8 is using some oil. It's not bad but I'd like to have it rebuild and have the intercooler mod done. Has anyone done this? What are your thoughts on the intercooling mod? Is it worth the $$$? Also with the cost of shipping the unit to KB factored in. I'm just tempted to just buy a new unit. $1199 plus shipping unit to them $150= $1349. New unit $2399. Thanks!

Man everyone is having to send there blowers in lately. Whipple and KB. I have sent mine in before years ago. It was when the LC was first released so I sent mine in to upgrade to it. As far as shipping just depends how far you live from Cali and what options you have. I dont have a fedex so I have to do UPS. It was like $50 and I live in SC so it;s a long haul.

That must've been awhile ago. It was $80 to send my whipple from San Diego to Fresno. Shipped weight was 55lbs.

The only thing I have to add here is make sure you package it very well. Do not use packing peanuts, only foam or spray foam and make sure the box has about 6 inches of padded space all round the blower.

Had one damaged in shipping because the guy my friend bought it from only used packing peanuts.

Correct.

Peanuts are just going to compress and let it slide around and bust out of the box.
