Hey guys...

A friend of mine is selling his cobra and I eed help on a fair price with all things considered. I’m thinking $20-25k

It’s a 93 teal cobra w grey cloth, moon roof and 18k (original miles) on odometer. The only things is we can’t get it running. It has started on its own w ether and ran for 30 secs really rough. No rust, I give engine bay an 8 (just west Texas dirty). Interior 9.5, paint 9 with 2 scratch marks that will probably buff out. I know it’s hard to know what value is without seeing it. Never been hit wheels are great.

Need some help on this one since the car is technically not in running condition. I have changed everything fuel wise, full tune up. Just haven’t changed the fuel injectors and a possible computer issue. He’s needing to sell it as he is tired of putting more money into it. So if this was your car, what would you think is a fair price to sell and or purchase if you were the buyer.

Thanks

How good a friend? I'll just say this, prices on these cars are at a all time high and folks have lost their minds paying top dollar for 100k mile cars. Even if the motor was seized, there are 100 guys that would drive half way across the country to buy a teal cloth car. You better buy and buy quick. It's worth more than $25k in todays market even not running.

Get that thing running and detailed and you'll make good money. Take it to a shop if you can't do it yourself. The fox body market is literally on fire, these things have gone WAY UP in price the last few years. A teal, cloth, 18K mile car in good shape should bring 35K plus easily.

Unless your buddy needs to sell, it's increasing in value just sitting there not running. If I were you, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Getting it to run can't be that expensive. Keep us in the loop on this one.

I'd buy it and keep it. Especially for that price. I doubt the motor is shot, probably something fairly simple. It could be a dozen things.

For sure. Could be ECU, ground, MAF, TPS, vacuum leak............the list goes on.

Exactly. All of which is fairly cheap to fix. Worst case scenario, a stock short block isn't that expensive.

93 Cobra prices have seriously shot up over the last 5+ years and the teal examples normally command the highest prices. With only 18k miles, if it was running and in great shape, you might get a sale in the low 40s.
