!!!PROTOTYPE IS READY!!!
!Check last post!

Yes, you read that title right! A friend of mine has access and ability to reproduce the infamous ****ing Fast Shift knobs! Using reproduction 2003-2004 Cobra 6-speed shift knobs.

Full disclaimer, I have an original ****ing Fast knob and paid WAY too much for it. So I know some are gonna hate this but, there's a demand and the prices are getting too crazy! So I get it and will understand the backlash, but will definitely enjoy the comments.

So message me if you want one, so we can get this train rolling! I will update this post with the list!

Hats off to the OP for giving it a go. As he stated, they will be using repo shift knobs most likely made in Asia, that can be had for $45. That really is the hard part of the production. The medallion portion is just the topping on the cake. And can be made in America. The thing is he will have to source the matching material, print shift patterns, and make one off tooling to cut and form medallion piece. That usually is the biggest expense, the tooling.
It seems the best medallion fitment would come from removing the existing aftermarket medallion and replacing it with the new. This will insure the edges of the new medallion are enveloped with the wrap of the knob,, for best fitment.
Also, something of this size order should be okayed by Sid, and more then likely set up a vendor account or offer some sort of contribution.

Have to give the OP a try at this.. wondered why someone didn't attempt this sooner. I thought the price way back when was high but bummed I didn't by one of the originals.

I'd like to see an example before commiting as well. If its the same quality as the original I would be in.

First off, thank you for the supporters!!

To the ones saying $150 is too expensive, others have explained it perfectly. The tooling, equipment and time that has to go into making these adds up.

Please, by all means, if you can make these or just one for less. Do so. And sell them here. I'd buy a couple!
But my friend has come up with this price based on the time, materials, equipment needed to make these perfect.

And I completely agree to all the ones that want to see one before they commit. I completely agree! He ordered a shift knob from LMR to use as the test mule and I sent him my original F**king Fast knob for comparison. So these will be identical. If not then this was just a fun idea and maybe it'll spark interest from another person or company to try.

As for the list, if you pur your name down as wanting one, then see the prototype and decide no. That's fine. The list isn't a commit to buy, but more of a who is interested and would want to buy one at the price so long as they look like the originals.

And there's also a Facebook group that he's posting the group buy to.

Keep the post coming!
Thanks again everyone.
