Just like the title says, I'm looking for a ball shaped American Flag shift knob. All I can find is cheesy stuff. Sorry for yet another shift knob thread (there's some when you search) but I can't find shit online.
Was hoping someone makes something better looking than the old school stuff I'm finding. Maybe something hydrodipped?
Do you guys have/seen anything similar?

No one has any insight?
Anyone try hydrodipping on their own? Is it durable enough for a shift knob?

It probably would be with a clearcoat over it, but for that kind of stuff, I'd hydrodip a smaller shift ball, then put it in clear epoxy and polish that. Kind of the old bowling ball treatment. You could do just about any design you want that way.

I thought about that too, but have no idea how I'd go about it.

Buy a plain white shifter knob for your year of mustang and then find a body shop that can strip the finish off and custom paint it the way you want and seal it for you, then have it buffed and polished. This will probably be your best bet.

I’m not sure if an airbrush artist would be appropriate but that might be an option.

I realize that but perhaps they could make something along the lines of what you're looking for, it's what they do.

Round is usually split in half as stretching is an issue. Two different dips. However, I have seen some wild dipping mostly on firearms. Here is a good example of round dipping from liquid concepts.

They do have tons of flag options. Interesting product. Question. They say that the hydropgraphic film can applied to pretty much any object, but how does the application on a round object like a shift knob avoid creases? If you covered the entire ball. I didn't see any round example on their website, so maybe you have an answer. Neat product.

It's a liquid so it will conform to a round surface.
