Yeah, it's super annoying. When we work a deal, I give my best option that I'm willing to do. At that point, I'm not going to change it because it would make me a liar.

The local dealer I was working with must have went through their list, they just matched your deal. I thanked them for calling and told them I wasn't interested anymore. I am a little surprised it didn't move, but the one in IA I almost bought before momma killed it and the one in SD from the dealer who will only sell instate are still available.

You should’ve bought the gt500. Ive yet to get this car to run anywhere near its potential. The seats feel like you’re sitting on them, not in them. The driving experience is also lackluster. The car does not feel connected to the road. My hellcat charger was far more engaging. My current 18 gt convertible is such a better driving car. And I got $8470 in rebates($7970 + addl $500) + $5000 off from the dealer. Still not worth it

Eh, we'll see, I still have my 08 for really raucous hooliganism.

It will be interesting to see what happens to the Carbon Fiber package cars in the area. The same ones have been listed since I started my search process. I think there will be some lucky deal makers on those cars.

I guarantee either that salesman was 50+ years old, or he was trained by a guy who was/is 50+ years old. Definitely old school mentality to get some sort of commitment before giving hard numbers.

Reasoning behind it is they can give you their best price on the Jeep and best trade in value on your STi....then you can take that piece of paper to another dealer and they will beat it by $50. At that point, you're already at the second store so you might as well do it.
Haha yep, I would guess he was somewhere in his 50s.

That's how the dealer I ended up buying from seemed to be.

The crazy West coast dealers are still buying the MY20 CFTP cars from other dealers for $15k+ over MSRP. Insane.

That may very well be their fate, the 2021's are on the way.

@black99lightnin Curious if you installed any strut and/or shock tower braces or the subframe brace?

Congrats. Awesome purchase. I’m seriously considering a wide body red eye challenger also.

Thank god we don't have front plates here.
Hate the damned things.
Picked my Lightning up in KC just after getting off the rail. The front plate was in the door pocket.

Some dealers here still love to put their plastic plates on the front. Told them if they put holes in my mustang I'd be "pissed" and they'd be at least repainting the bumper... but it was easier to find all the lot attendants that prepped the cars and offer them a bit of cash if they spotted my car and alerted me and kept the front bumper clean of plates, and spred the word to their buddies to do the same. They came through, told me when it came off the truck, and no extra holes.

So are you going for the MSRP deal on the 2020?

Nope, I have a 2021 Challenger Hellcat Widebody Redeye on order. Once the 2021 GT500 start showing up, I think the 2020's will be less than MSRP and the dealers are reacting to that. Maybe the 2020 carbon fibers all get dealer traded out of my tri-state area.

For some reason a lot of dealers around here put the plate mount on the front of every car even though we aren't a front plate state. I guess one more place to put their dealer advertisement. When I got my first focus they told me it was coming on the truck in a few days and I told them not to put a front plate on it or the deal was off. They upheld the deal thankfully, but still put the sticker on the back. Fine, I took the dealer sticker off myself and when I went back for my first service ill be damned if they didn't replace the missing sticker before I got my car back.

When I got my ST the dealer didn't have one on the lot I wanted so I sat with the manager looking at other dealers inventory and he said hey here is a gray one, but I shot it down because it had a front plate already on it. He seemed surprised but I don't understand why it's so hard to understand car guys don't want something drilled into their brand new bumper.

No this has to do if they do a swap deal with another dealership that so happens to be a 2 plate state. Seen this at Michigan and Pa. dealers where I went to pick up what my dealership wanted from them. Simple as it checks off another job that does not need to be done by us. But Ohio is also like these 2 states and so front plates are no more.

Picked her up tonight. Completely different feel than my 19 GT, like it, but still like how my 19 GT drove. To bad I couldn't keep both.
