Previous generations loaned money on our backs though. Recent administrations are just compounding the problem.

Among other reasons, further societal breakdown (LGBTQ ****, drug addiction, safe space pussies, illegal immigrants, etc) and impending economic devastation are why I don't want to overextend ourselves and bring more children into this world. My wife doesn't quite agree with my logic but tough shit for her.

Thats the way we feel

NICE!!! You're going for the Corvette, huh???
I want my Porsche GT3.
Going to try, C6 LS3/auto would make a great daily for me, and a fun day-to-the-office car for my wife. Oddly enough, the Bronco allocation is so back ordered, its looking like a few YEARS could go by before they ever get to our reservation. Id be amazed if the computer chip shortage is sorted anytime soon. They charge more for a small batch, the chipmakers make more profit. Why would that change, well until there is a crash.

Im a few months away from paying off my GT500. Plans are to save some cash for a bit then towards the end of the summer see where things are at. Im hoping it hasnt all gone down the toilet, but I have zero confidence in this government or Wall Street.

It literally happened already. Mark my words 1 year out, 5 years out, 10 years out.

We are at the bottom. They WILL go N.I.R.P. if needed... there is TOO MUCH money saved up in the system right now.
Hyper growth explosion this decade.
S&p 500 doubles if not triples by 2031.

Our debt / gdp is barely 100% and we are the global reserve... we can lever up another 60 trillion easily. Maybe more.
Brother, I sincerely hope you are right.

But at the same time, this country unfortunately needs a societal correction. One that only hard times can correct.

You could not operate anything the way government operates now and expect it to survive. The bill will come due at some point, but with the deep pockets of the US and the lack of regard for basic principles from our government, there is no knowing how long they can extend this facade they have created and fooled Americans with. There is no cheating financial, economic, and societal (and I personally would add religious) principles however.

Yep.

However I think it’s all a scam.

National debt? Be patriotic and pay more taxes!

What a ****ing joke.

Ya know its funny. My Dad was born in 42’. Vietnam vet. He’s seen it all.

I kinda tore into him because he was so furious about everything and it was wasting his energy. He finally accepted it and said thank you.

This shits been going on forever.

Worry about yourself. Make poor people poorer by getting more money.

**** losers.

It's coming. Trump made it worse through a stronger economy and Biden is going to make the bottom worse through devastating policy. The cost of living in many cities is simply too inflated with tons of people overextended financially.

Sadly, Americans won't learn their lesson.

I don’t think anything is going to happen other then your standard economic downturn that will last 3-10 years. I don’t think there will ever be a depression level crash coming. Its been talked about for decades.

Honestly, what are you going to do about it if it does? Nothing. You are along for the ride.

Essentially we are being forced to loan ourselves money on the backs of our children's and grandchildren's futures. Further, we'll have no real say in it because half our country is ****ing retarded, lazy and entitled.

This short term "easing" can only further quicken the tanking of our dollar value. ...I better get my Corvette before the end of the year it seems.... :D
Or perhaps get into crypto as a hedge against inflation.

The cost of a barrel of oil is almost 60 bucks. That tells you right there where this economy is headed with so many people out of work and businesses closed.
Not good.

This couldn't be more true, we're all just along along for the ride, I'd say be smart with your money and look out for you and your family.

At this point the government knows nothing will stop them and they're going to destroy this country, it's just a matter of time.

A housing crash which threw us into a economic downturn for 5-10 years depending on the state. That was nothing compared to the Great Depression. Which is what the OP was asking about.

Was the most modern depression we have had. 401k tanked, people lost homes, jobs, vehicles. Government did a bailout for most pf these things

Whenever the bond market yield curves invert a crash is inevitable, the curves inverted in aug or oct of ‘19. Then a “deadly” virus was found and truckloads of money was printed and the can kicked down the road yet again with covid relief

the GOOD news: the stock market is STRONG. If job numbers improve, the market will support itself. With millennials and phone app support, people are trading left and right. What scares me is the housing market. Many MANY states are overpriced with inflated numbers, some 10-30%. With the virus, people are taking a "pause" on their loans, essentially defaulting. In 6 months, people will have to repay their mortgage, and that could be BAD news for some. And of course, we have Sniffy Joe, handing out checks like candy ....which will prop up the market but for how long?

The answer: let people WORK and let businesses thrive. The government needs to be supporting small businesses. Of course, we all know that will never happen. Stats show we go on 12 year cycles ....last one was in 2008 ....so it would not surprise me one bit if we took another shit real soon. For me I say **** it ....work hard, play it smart, spend your money wisely. If you are in the stock market think LONG term. If you see the stock market take a huge dump, grow some buys and buy MORE.
