Not strictly Shelby related but would like the opinion(s) of members here:

A 19x10.5" wheel and 20x12.5" wheel (fully forged monoblock) each weigh 26.8 and 26.2lbs. respectively.

Are those weights considerd light, normal or heavy for that size of wheel?

weird the smaller narrower wheel is a tiny bit heavier.

I believe the front weight increase is the big block of aluminum that is part of the wheel hub area to space out the center section for caliper clearance.

OP, I would say those weights are probably on the lighter side for that wheel width and diameter, if it's forged. What are the load ratings? Only way to make a light weight forged wheel is to use less material. Often times lighter wheel weights result in a compromise for strength over a heavier wheel. The load rating will tell the tale.

I do not know the load rating of the wheel in question at the moment, and what you say does make sense about the extra alum. on the front wheel for caliper clearance on the front suspension but you would still need the clearance for the rear brakes?

I haven't seen the back pad area of the wheels so not sure if the front wheels have more "meat" on the backpad compared to the rear.

So you are saying for the size of these wheels the weights are toward the "light" side?

These weights are normal for a forged wheel of that size. My forged wheels in 20's were about 24-26lbs without tires. once you get tires on them, they typically get up to 62-64lbs per wheel depending on the tire you get.

I agree with the previous posters, those are pretty light wheels for their size. You could probably find some wheels that are a bit lighter, even “rotary forged” construction, but probably only by a few pounds. In regard to the rears- 12.5” is very wide. Do you plan to run them on a stock-bodied GT500?

No I don't have my 13 GT500 anymore I'm rocking the car in my sig now. I got more info about the wheels I'm considering from the manufacturer of them. Yes the front wheel is heavier because of the extra "beef" in the backpad to clear the front CCB brakes and the load rating is 1600lbs. according to them.
