Would it change anyone's opinion on purchasing an EV if it was available as 5/6/7/8/10 speed manual transmission? Personally I would consider one because between the torque and the manual trans it would be a fun ride and make it much more engaging as long as it doesn't have nannies for everything.

500 mile range that can charge to 80% in 30 min and cost less than 50k. There is nothing on the horizon close to this cost for cost.

I researched this a few days ago.

Yeah I would.

Whether we like it or not, the combustion engine is on its way out.

CE will be missed but we’ll adapt. It’s what we do.

Technological deflation. Just like T.V. and computers and smartphones... so will go electric car.

Think back to $10,000 50 inch plasma tv's in early 2000... now you get a superior quality product for 1/10th.

Same will be the case with automotive.
And this is coming from a U.A.W. employee on the line.

Nope not ever. I refuse to support a segment that is actively fighting to end the hobby I love. I hate all electric cars along with the CAFE regs and carbon credit nonsense that keeps them economically viable.

Look at this Tesla just wiping the floor with all the old school muscle cars. There's even a Terminator in there getting whipped! Musk / Tesla is embarrassing the other auto makers. They need to up their game!

Because I care about my planets environment, I understand the damage that electric cars , causes. Old school oil is still the cleanest product known to man . I will never own a car that violates my belief .

Ugh, no. EV cars have no soul. They are absolutely lifeless to drive. I switched over to a Volt as a daily because I was pissing money down the drain in high gas bills and wear and tear on the V. It's only been a week and it's sucking the life out of me. Every second I'm in the car I'm counting down the days until the weekend when I get to fire the V up again.

Do those of you who are anti-EV have gas powered washing machines? Gas powered drills? Gas powered toothbrushes? I mean, think of the "soul" you're missing out on. I mean, for sure drive a Model T so you can experience hand cranking the engine. What kind of wuss uses a starter? Plus you can manually control the spark advance. Only a soulless slug drives a car with centrifugal or computerized spark advance...
