There was a little back and forth between the trackhawks and some modded explorers not too long ago. I’d watch...but ford wont do it

Was that against Trackhawks or the regular SRT models? I remember the Edge Sport and Explorer Sport with a tune were neck and neck with stock 6.4 SRT GC's.

The Explorer ST is fast but how does it make up the deficit of 150+hp even in tuned form?

The rumors/leaks that I've been seeing on various places is that the "base" Raptor will continue with the 3.5 Ecoboost (possibly with tweaked power ratings) and the 10-spd auto, and that there will be a new Raptor R with the supercharged 5.2L V8 from the GT500 at 740-750 HP. Haven't seen if the Raptor R would have the 10-spd or the DCT that's in the GT500. Either way, I think it's going to be a badass truck that's really going to top the Ram in just about all areas. Just my prediction. Can't wait to see the reveal in a few days.

TFL probably gave you that idea. I now remember because I heard this same rumor from them.

Ford has of late been too pussy to put real motors in their halo vehicles - GT500 the notable exception - so I fully expect it to be just more ecogarbage. If they do manage to see their way to sticking the predator in it, then predictions of the TRX's downfall are premature IMO. Does anyone really think Ram doesn't already have a TRX testing with the Redeye or Demon motor in it? I bet money they do.

As of late, they always use the word "projected" when it comes to numbers so I suspect this will be the case here and we won't know specific specs outside of cylinder count.

They better be quick then. There are not a whole lot of months left for a 2021 model.

Hard blow, bro, it will sink that ship. I wonder how many guys will have buyers remorse. FCA as a whole is junk. Ford whip Wranglers ass hard and now they will whip the TRXs ass hard. They are going in dry.

If and it’s a big if, Ford puts a blown V8 in the raptor it’ll only have been because FCA forced their hand. What FCA does correctly is giving people what they want. Blown V8s across their line up, a v8 wrangler, fun srt offerings. They are no dummies and know what their fan base wants.

short of gas mileage the reviews on the TRX have been nothing short of impressive so I really wouldn’t expect a significant difference to their sales based on fords offering with the raptor as even with a blown V8 I think we’ll all see both trucks to be similar in terms of capabilities.

I also doubt any current TRX owners will have buyers remorse.

Companies can't really make decisions that fast and put it to market.

If this new Raptor comes with a predator engine, it would be fair to assume it's been quite a while since they started testing.

The TRX concept came out before the second gen Raptor.

So where was what I said incorrect? It was common knowledge the TRX was coming down the pipe line, Ford was in turn reactive to that if they do plop the predator engine in it.

also keep in mind the TRX concept first seen was based off a 4th Gen platform. FCA revamped the whole platform and then made the updated TRX and brought it to market prior to Ford doing anything with a V8 in an existing platform that some of their customer base wanted.

for was doubling down on the ecoboost line up, if they put the predator engine in even as a special edition, are we to believe they always planned that?

have you been inside a 2021 F150 limited yet?
Does a F150 Platinum count?? It was a 2020.
My buddy has one. GORGEOUS!! It's that white pearl paint with tons of metallic flake in it. The name escapes me at the moment.
