Hey guys I'm buying tires for the first time for my 14 gt500. I have stock rims and looking for the best street tire any recommendations? Can I get away from stock size and if so what is the widest tire I can go?

Michelin Pilot Sports. If you are looking to save money I've had great luck with the Firestone Firehawk's and I'm at 680 whp. Can't help you with size but I'm guessing any amount you you can move up isn't going to make any difference.

Michelin pilots are the best, but very comparable are continental extremecontacts and they are almost half the price.

I wanted to try the Michelin pilot sport cut 2 but they don't have them in my factory size. I would have to go up to 295. Just didn't know if changing factory size was a good idea.

Definitely stay away from cup 2's if it is Only street car, the wear rating on them is not good. They are very sticky but that comes with very soft rubber therefore very quick wear. Definitely stick with regular pilot sports for street driving or the continental extremecontacts. I got 40k miles out of the rear continentals on my 15.

Really depends on what you do with the car. If its a weekend cruiser, no real racing Id go Michelins. If you race her, pick a tire for up front and some Mickey Thompson ET Street S/Ss for the rear.

I assume you have the performance pack? You should be able to run a 305/35R20 just fine. Fitted rim for that size recs a 10" min, but the 9.5" isnt going to make a difference.

If you drive this car in cool to cold temps, youll want to stay away from Max Performance summer tires. They arent designed for cool/cold weather and the rubber can crack.

My 2011 GT500 with Performance pack has all seasons on it currently. Was my daily for a year or so. Had Sumitomo A/S up front and BF Goodrich Comp 2 A/S in the rear. No issues with the front tires. Rear tires had decent grip when newer, but as it wore it lost some. No where near as bad as the factory Spinyears.

I just bought some Bridgestone A/S to replace the worn Sumi's. Rears Ill go with some Mickey S/S'.

Im assuming you're current set of tires is the factory set? If so, congrats on surviving the curse of the Spinyears. What a god awful tire...

We put Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ On all four corners. I don’t track or race our 2013. But I do like to drive it in temps below 40 degrees when roads are dry and clear. Only way to go for us.

Get some aftermarket rims, and put some michelin tires on it.I have cup 2 tires.295/30/20,and 325/30/20 out back.

I would go up one size front and rear. I'm running Nitto G2 and very happy with them. Decent traction, good ride and quiet.

Great question and worthy of some research, as the tires make or break the experience.
As stated above, the best way is to be honest on how you use the car? How many miles per year? And last, what do you want to improve—straight line traction, handling, etc?
Even at stock power, I think an R compound tire, specifically a street DR, transforms these cars.

Hey I'm looking for rear tires the NT555 R2 i've seen on another post you said 305/35/20?
Saw the PM first but if the 295/35/20 is not available I’d personally run the 305/35/20 no question.
But on the stock 9.5” rear wheel, 295/35 should work best.

They both fit. 295 is a better option for the size of the wheel.

The 305 works too. I personally run a 305 nitto on my stock rear wheels. Small buldge, nothing crazy. Car handles as expected with a Drag Radial on the rear. Just fine in a straight line and maybe a little spongy under harder cornering.

Correct.
I will say the handling on the drag radials on the wider wheels is a significant difference.
Meaning on my GT500 I’ve had 305/35/20s on stock 20x9.5s, 315/35/20s on 20x10s and 315/35/20s on 20x11s
The handling was noticeably better and actually very competent on the 315/11” combo.
On my Hellcat I also used the same 305/35/20 NT555Rs on stock 9.5 and then on replica 10.5s. Same tire actually just swapped over from 9.5 to 10.5
It was a nice immediate improvement in highway stability and lane changes and on/off ramps on the 305/10.5”
