Starting a business how scared we're you?

roll off rental for residential trash removal.

Is that not something you could start out doing in the weekends or your days off while you keep your day job? My thinking is it would give you time to market yourself and build a client base.

As far as working for yourself...I wish I’d have done it sooner. My business model pretty much runs itself and isn’t much different from when I was working for a company. Sure it’s more stressful, but totally worth it.

Probably the scariest thing I ever did, but in my situation I didn’t have time to “think” about it too much, an opportunity presented itself and I jumped at it. I figured worst case I could always go back to working for another company doing the same thing.

Just do it. Seriously. I would have regretted NOT doing it, and possibly failing, for the rest of my life.

Starting a new business is a fools errand. Biden and the democrats will crush you. Just look at what is happening in California. Small business CRUSHED. Would you risk everything to have the democrats take it from you? Just look at what they did on day one. The worst is yet to come. I wouldn't buy or invest in anything till the madness stops.

I day dream all the time about being my own boss. I’m so sick of being middle management in a massively corporate environment. Unfortunately I make good money, just enough to keep me spewing corporate buzz words and faking enthusiasm for metrics. It’s a slow death.

I’ve thought a lot about buying a semi with cash and starting a logistics service but you can’t start that on the side so I fantasize about being laid off with a nice severance so I can try that.

Not as much money in it as you’d think unless you specialize in heavy haul or something, or a guaranteed customer.

I’ve got one as a side business and I’m about to sell it.

Every trucker on every forum says that if you want to be a millionaire in trucking then start out with a billion. I don’t get it, there has to be money in it or the industry wouldn’t exist.

Is it debt? Maintenance? Mismanagement(not a dig at you)? What is it about the trucking industry that makes every trucker play that same tune?

Recently watched an interesting video on a truck driver. You can skip to the end where he talks about pay and expenses. Long story short he’s making over 200k.

I worked in the industry. Being a trucker....not going to happen. You want to be an air freight broker to make any money.

nobody will care for your equipment like you do.

I’ve managed a few trucking companies ... and nothing is worse than a company driver who only cares about the paycheck and not the truck
