I am trying to find the correct part number for the fuel sending unit. My sending unit has stopped working. All the pictures that come up for sending units corresponding to year models '99-'04 are different than what the '00 R has.
This is the part number that comes up (XR3Z9275AA), but it is not the exact same.

Thanks,
Larry

Do you have a pic of the fuel level sending unit?

I'm no help for the correct part number for the 00R fuel level sending unit, it may be a unique part and may not have a part number. I would get the 99-04 V6/GT fuel level sender and put the 00R float arm on to it.

Paul.
I spent several hours looking at all the fuel sending units for all 2000 year model Fords. The F-150 and 250 had the same shape sending unit, the metal mounting plate is unique to the R. The plastic locking tabs and pins are exactly the same on the backside. I took the float level arm out of the old unit and installed it into the new unit and swapped the metal backing plates.

2000 F-150 fuel sending unit part number is
PS-73-

So you were successful in the end, and your gauge now reads correctly (you didnt mention if your fix worked)?

The car is in the shop being re-tuned, as soon as I hear from them I will let you know if it worked. I know it is not an issue with the gauge cluster.

What is the issue that the fuel gauge was all over the place or that it wasn’t working?

I’m interested in the results because the fuel gauges on my cars are all over the place.

The fuel gauge started to read incorrectly then it finally stopped working altogether.

The Fuel gauge was put on the back burner for a long while and I am now getting fuel gauge fixed, at least I hope so.

The fuel gauge issue started at the same time that the foam baffles or the check valves in the fuel cell started giving me problems during a track event.
