Are your states DMV inspection test sites? NY isn't. In NY we have regular auto garages/shops (lots of them in every town) that are certified to do inspections...
I had mine done at a Jiffy Lube / car wash site. They had my hood up but I'm not sure what they really looking at. They could see the VMP blower and insignia but I don't think it was an issue. Even the Ford dealer that failed it the first time (and tried to sell me a set of tires - said mine failed for tires too -BS) never said anything about the VMP blower. I think as long as you can pass the 5 out of 6 OBD tests you are good in NY. I don't think they even looked to verify my CATs were really on.

There are many options for inspection in N.J..
I choose the state inspection stations:
1. It's free.
2. They don't try to sell you anything.
3. The place I go to is by appointment, usually out in 15 or 20 minutes..

This is a pretty important topic these days, and something we spend a lot of time on so our customers can operate legally.

There are a myriad of things in the tune that can cause a vehicle to fail emissions. Over the past 10 years we've made it a policy of not altering any of those items. We're happy to review older tunes and make sure everything is correct so the car has the best possible chance at setting the monitors.

Even when tuned properly in an emissions legal way you still have to contend with the car and its emissions systems operating properly. Now that we're talking about the oldest GT500s being built 14 years ago, and the newest ones 6-7 years ago, there is a lot that can go wrong.

The biggest issue we see is EVAP systems not setting. Fuel level in the tank is the biggest one, but sometimes it takes the perfect set of conditions for all monitors to complete. The EVAP systems are also very sensitive to leaks. Catalytic converters that are worn out is also another item that can cause you to not set a readiness monitor. I could go on and on about emissions systems durability...since it is something we actively test and monitor during our supercharger and calibration development process.

We do expect to begin offering EO kits 1st and 2nd quarter of 2021. Even the new 3.1L TVS has been tested and passes emissions in our complete 950HP kit.

^This is good news. It's just too big of a hassle dealing with illegal cars anymore. Getting your products certified will definitely increase sales.

I'm just happy my car passed the NY inspection from the VMP tune without me having to swap parts and spend $$. I'll stick with VMP products om my next GT500 buy up. In the spring I will talk to my tuner about his tune...and no future tunes from him if they can't pass OBD tests.

In NY the fine is $200+ for out of date inspections. A fake sticker is risky with heavy fines and criminal charges and they can catch you in either case pretty quickly just driving by. No DMV registration renewal without a valid inspection in their system.
