Ford is not going to invest in retooling a plant for a specific EV platform and keep another non EV platform around in the same plant in the future. That would make zero sense.

So sure, we can make that bet.

so the bet is in 7 years ford no longer offers any new mustangs with internal combustion engines.

I'll bet you 1 (.9999 troy ounce of gold.
With thr EU, Japan, California, New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts pushing it... And Beijing Biden in office...

They may not have a choice by 2035. Let's not kid ourselves, Ford and GM are on board with this as I'm sure it presents an excellent revenue opportunity.

you people keep talking like you have to follow the rules instead of doing what americans have been doing since the beginning: resisting tyranny.

Toyota's CEO stated he is still skeptical of the electric movement even though they offer almost a full line up of electric or hybrid vehicles. That to me says we should still remain skeptical too at least.
Toyota also committed that all new product introductions after 2030 will be electric.

Well I'm not about to start an auto manufacturer and last I checked, you don't follow the rules you go to jail.

So please do share how you are rebelling against the global tyranny?

I will not go into every way that i refuse to comply with tyrannical mandates but rest assured it I do my part.

EPA jurisdiction ends where it means sufficient force to repel it. Also, at the united states border.

please direct your questions about how to resist tyranny to the potheads in all those states who now enjoy their stinkweed free of threat of prison.

Doesn't surprise me, but I take it that they are following the current trend but aren't so committed to it that they aren't prepared to bail on it if the tides change. They'll be more prepared for that shift having anticipated it.

If it falls out you just keep making the same car, aka Hellcats.

These companies are banking on, and likely helping fund political lobbies, to make electric cars mandatory.

You no longer have to worry about competition, the EPA and consumer wants/needs when the government limits everyone's choices.

After all this hype-horseshit settles down in this thread, somebody do me a favor & post the main source that creates electricity in our country. Is it fairy dust or another source?
Post the findings here.

Turbines?

Well silly, once we ban fracking and drilling, it will all come from renewable green resources like Saudi Arabia and Iran that aren't in my backyard.

Mexico could make a fortune building a nuclear power plant in Tijuana and selling that's shit to Cali.

that assumes nobody will tell them to piss right off at any point. if things keep going the way they are going in 7 years we won't have a solid union anymore.

They would lose billions in the process. Retooling a factory can take years and costs billions to convert to electric so if they bet wrong then it is not that simple; they have to be absolutely sure that it is going to work and the infrastructure will be able to handle the shift. If it can't then people aren't going to be buying new electric vehicles and will just hang onto their used gas vehicles.

Gay. Canada will surely have 90% of the all-electric mustang buyers.

Not totally sure Canada is any more gay than America lately... I would be willing to bet you guys will be fully electrified and all cars mandated to be painted purple before we are ordered out of our ICE cars... Square wheels and all

So when is the electric grid updates starting?
And at this point, full EVs likely weigh more and will further tax our outdated infrastructure.
No problem having the wife and even my true DD as full electric if it makes sense, but the car culture and ICE is still going to be strong.
I’m keeping my 4 Mustangs and will add a new GT500 and Redeye Charger before they stop production.
I call it stocking up.

Electric is the future. Said it before, saying it again. U cant compete with the mighty $$$$$$ and that is what manufacturing companies see. PROFITS!!!!

Tesla is not the only company riding this out..... Ford has way more money and sees how popular electric is becoming.

Electric is what ppl will buy cause it will get a FAR better driving range distance vs. gas and a lot FASTER than what is currently available. I bet it has a 600+ mile driving range as well.

Shit, if Tesla can produce a car NOW that has 600 mile driving range im sure Ford can top that over the next 7 years. A very small percentage of Mustang owners modify their cars so most won't care and im sure electric will have the ability to be upgraded as well and will have programs and tunes ppl can buy and surely upgraded batteries at some point.

By then most of ur manufacturing companies will all be going electric or plans to go electric. Gas cars will start to be phased out within the next 20-30 years no doubt! Im betting low 10's right off the showroom floor!
