NFLX earnings tonight. I'm not in the name but am watching price action for a pennant break to the upside.

Super cheap company still at only a 220B market cap.

I sold the bulk of my "penny stocks" this morning. But, my biggest investing weakness has always been the tendency to sell too soon.

It could be a downfall but most of my stocks thus far I've put a personal rule of thumb in. They hit 20% I seriously look at trading them. I do own a few that are up over 50% and I know their is more potential there but I just keep the idea in my head that it's 20%+ I did not have when I started. Has worked well for me so far......I've tried to split my purchases with solid dividend aristocrats that I intend on just straight up keeping / the more volatile stuff that has paid very nice to me so far.

I grabbed some IZEA today as well. I also bought NGD. First time buying stocks. only bought 10 of each. I know, not remotely close to svtp baller status.

Congrats, I just started myself a couple of weeks ago- I bought $100 worth of 5 ($500 total invested) different stocks and today the portfolio is at almost $1,000

Thanks. It's still challenging for me to know which to buy. Esp without a ton of play money. Can't get mad at doubling your money!

It's all in the research and sometimes you just get plain lucky. As far as only starting out with a little money don't be discouraged. I started out with only $150 and have had a blast learning over these last few months.

I got skeered and sold the bulk of my risky stocks yesterday. IZEA, GEVO, NOVN, UAVS.

Two things are on my mind. First was when Greenspan called the market activity "irrational exuberance." That was a couple decades ago, but I feel like we're seeing the same thing now. The second is the old adage, "when the average guy on the street starts talking about stocks, it's time to get out of stocks."

That said, I'm still nearly fully invested in the market. Just more mainstream stocks (lol) like LRCX, BABA, ARRY, NOVA, AMZN, AAPL, SCCO, IAU,SLV, QQQ, and funds HSRUX, FXAIX, and FDGRX.

If we see huge gains in the next few weeks I'll probably go back to cash, rinse, and repeat haha.

I took mine out because I'm going to buy a couple rental properties instead. Try that route for a few years.

No-Can-Do, Fu-Man-Chu. I was planning on buying rentals to fund my retirement until CA decided to absolutely screw over landlords. Basically, you don't have to pay your rent, but landlords have to pay their mortgages.

Man you guys are too big time for me. I just spent my first $100. I bought IZEA 10@$4.12 (its down a bit today), NOVN 10@$1.32 (its down a bit today), ZOM 9@$1 (its basically even +/- so far), NGD 10@$1.919 (up 4.5% today) and TBLT 14@$1.23 (down a little bit today). Obviously not going to get rich off these. They will be long term holds. I put most of my investment money into crypto ($1k eth, $100 ADA and $300 btc).
