Never thought I'd be so excited to install blinds lol. Two windows didn't have any. Don't need people peeking in.

Hopefully next week my floor will get done!

Brady, I've had a floor like that in my garage for a few years now. No problems finding dropped stuff for the most part.

I agree with what Brad said. I've had the same floor (in beige tones) for a few months now and have had to issues finding dropped stuff. You should be fine. And good call on the gray tones floor coating. It definitely will go better with your white walls and silver/gray hardware.

You're going to LOVE the floor coating, Brady. It looks awesome and it's rock solid.

Brady, are they doing the floor in sections?
I'm really not sure. They just said normally a 2 day job, but might be a little into the 3rd day. The will have to move out my office table and chairs.

I asked because if it's a multiple day job they would there be a seam where Day 1 meets Day 2? I honestly don't know. My garage is tiny compared to yours, and was completely done in about 6 hours. I'm just curious how the installers plan out a big floor install like yours if they might try to hide a seam when they continue on Day 2 what they finished on Day 1. Maybe a "seam" isn't noticeable even when they continue laying it down on Day 2 or Day 3. I'm really looking forward to seeing your finished floor. It's going to look really awesome.

Just a recommendation if you want to keep that shiny new floor looking as new and fresh as possible. I bought one of those wide, cotton push dust mops for sweeping my floor. They're washable. And you can get them as wide as 60". Mine is 24". In the Spring, I'll damp mop the half that got dirty from drying slush and then from then on I'll run the dust mop over the floor maybe once a month to keep it looking shiny and new. I can already see that the floor stays a lot cleaner than when it was bare concrete. Oh course, how you use your garage/shop will determine how clean the floor can be. LOL.

Bob, I was planning on blowing mine off. Do you think the dust mop would be a better option. I have 3300 square feet of floor, that is a lot of moping.

Thanks for the tip Bob. I did plan on buying a mop like that lol. Like mentioned, I believe first day is prep.
I bet day 1 is prep, day 2 the actual finish is applied, with out a "seam"
I think you are correct.

My 2c on cleaning, get a great shop vac (quiet, and has great filtration). Does not take long to vac the floor, and you are trapping the dust, not kicking it all up into the air (then all over your cars). I have 2 Fein vacs that I like very much.

That IS a lot of space for a dust mop, even a 60" (5') mop. The dirtier the floor gets, the harder it will be to keep clean by simple means. I only have around 450 sq. ft. or so. I have a built-in vac inlet in the garage that I can use, too. I also have a wet-vac if needed. Any decent size floor vac will be an asset. As already mentioned, compressed air would push the fine debris into the air and redistribute a lot of it onto the walls, cabinets and cars. Think using a push broom on a dirty concrete floor. The dust lifts into the air, making a mess. At least that's what used to happen in MY garage.

That makes sense. Prep in my garage was about 2 hours. Your shop floor is much bigger. Second day is coating the floor (no seams) and the third is touch up, finishing, if needed.

I just stopped by the shop to check things out.

I've also decided to get new chairs and a desk in the office. Those will be black. Someone already snatched up the old one. Set it out by the curb with a free sign.

Ready to go! Brady, do those vacuums catch near 100% of the concrete dust when they grind/vacuum the floor? I was really surprised when the workers used the grinder on my garage floor that literally 0% of dust entered the air. I walked around after checked exposed objects like stair rails and cabinets and could find NO dust. Amazing filtration systems!
