It’s the small thing’s that make it just a little bit cleaner and to make it more enjoyable to drive, are the ones that count! Keeps getting better! It pleases me to know that it has gone to another car guy that takes pride in what goes into these cars! Joe and I put our soles into these machines and love doing it together as a team keep up the good work!

Thanks Mark, means a lot coming from you. You and Joe have definitely made an amazing car, the amount of heart and soul poured into the car really shows. I hope to keep perfecting the little things, but that list is quickly getting shorter.

I picked her up today from the fab shop. He installed an electronic cut out off the down pipe. I don’t have it wired up yet, so I haven’t heard it, but he did a beautiful job.

A couple small updates.

Figured she runs on E85 so may as well put on the finishing touch.

Also, I had a bottle mount bracket fabricated to mount the 5lb bottle in the trunk. I’m using a NX remote nitrous bottle opener to open and close the CO2 bottle. I also plan on mounting the regulator remotely for a much cleaner look.

Next I need to decide on switches. I have the line lock, bottle opener and electric cut out. I can either make a cup holder switch panel, re-wire the nonfuncting rear defroster, fog lights, and traction control buttons and use them. I could wire it into the Holley, but I don’t want to touch the screen.

A few more small updates.

I got tired of looking at the two black plugs in the drivers side shock tower and decided to order 2 mineral gray plugs from bumperplugs.com I used these guys to fill the bumper holes in my 97 and I’ve been very happy with them.

I also installed carbon driven carbon fiber interior trim.

After the trim I pulled the waist gate and swapped out the springs so the native boost without CO2 will now sit around 14psi. Before it was 5/25 which meant if I was out of CO2 or just driving the car it wasn’t that much fun. I think 14psi will be great for runs to the grocery store.

I also decided how to set up the switches for the remote CO2 bottle opener, Exhaust cut out and Line Lock. I’m going to use a speed of sound center console switch panel. Sounds great except they have a hole for a nitrous pressure gauge and I’m not running nitrous.... however, I have CO2! Now, I realize for refill purposes the accuracy is limited, but it fills the hole and should look good.

I didn’t like the “glow shift” or “nitrous pressure” illuminating so I pulled the gauge apart and covered them with some black electrical tape. Due to the tinted lens, you can’t see the tape at all.

In the photos below the black bezel for a just sitting on the gauge so it’s not perfectly centered.

I literally made a quick adapter and plugged it into my cigarette lighter then rolled her outside just to hear it. I’m in love!

monitor your boost and log AFR to make sure you don’t need a tune adjustment. open DP makes a big difference on when the boost comes in

I haven’t got to do any pulls yet with it, but it was my understanding that the Holley system was smart/fast enough to compensate for this but I’ll reach out to the tuner and verify. Thanks!

Youre waste gate should control max boost so you should be fine.

but you could hear how much easier it spools with the open DP.

The hits just keep on coming!!

I’m trying. The car is approaching being finished. I’m pushing to get it done by the spring and I don’t want to work on it at all over the summer, just drive it and make memories with my son.

At this point, I’ve got a little bit of brake work to do, a small job on the fuel system, a few small parts at the powder coaters and I’ll get the speed-of-sound switch panel wired up when it arrives. Outside of that not much will change until the fall.

It will be good to take it out with your son and make memories! I remember my dad taking me out in the old 66 gt350 when I was in maybe 5th grade. That Paxton would kick in and spin the tires at freeway speed(third gear) and that’s how the car disease stuck with me. I took my car out for a nice drive today, no snow and rocks were cleaned up off the streets. Still smiling!

After a bit of a wait due to the materials pipeline Alan at speed of sound got me my center console switch panel and man it looks great! I can’t say enough about Alan or his company, top notch product and communication.

I ran and tucked the wiring from the exhaust cut out, line lock and remote bottle opener into the center console.

My favorite part is the relay that applies power to the remote bottle opener when the car is turned off to ensure the bottle is always closed and therefore not prone to leaks.

I picked the relay up from Buy Off Delay Timer Relay Online | Timers.shop off Amazon and it worked perfectly. It’s HIGHLY programmable via WiFi for a ton of uses.

Then finally got it buttoned up this afternoon.

Love the little touches you’ve been adding, it makes the car so much more unique than it already is. Thanks for keeping this thread alive!

Thanks man, appreciate it! This car is such a unique ride and while it was really nice when I took delivery, I’ve gotta make it my own.

My goal is to have it 100% by spring and to not work on it at all until late fall. Due to sending the car back for more paint work and COVID I only got a few weeks driving it last late summer/early (<150mi) before they salted the roads due to an early snow.

At this point I’m waiting on some powder coated parts and I’m there!
