Does anyone use a Lund Flex Fuel tune? How has your experience been?

I run ethanol on my Saleen and in the last terminator I had, there is 4 stations around town with year around E85. However once I leave town it’s 2-3hrs before I can find ethanol again.

At this time I’m thinking about intake, exhaust, smaller pulley, injectors, fuel rail. If needed I’ll do a return style fuel system. So I’d like to run ethanol to make the most of it.

Return style is idea for any e85 setsup. I would NOT run a canned tune for E. Need to get it on the dyno and monitor all parameters and make changes as needed.

I assumed it would be remotely tuned, data logged and several rounds of tuning. That’s what I’ve done in the past. Is there a reason to not remotely tune the 500s?

Lund would not improperly remote tune a 2020 GT500 or any other coyote on the street or the dyno. Break it in, mod it as you see fit and enjoy it. You live in the heart of ethanol country....let it eat!

Yea I’m blessed to have affordable race fuel available! I’ll definitely do a pure E85 tune to Max it out, but for daily(ish) the flexfuel makes more sense.

I assume I’ll need a wideband as well for the remote tuning, do you know is there one what Lund prefers?

Get a dedicated E85 tune if ur plan is to run ethanol. Throw some One-Ethanol in it and make even more. Lund will recommend u buy the Nguage but apparently they are being discontinued.

Yes, I’ll be doing 2 tunes. flexfuel so I don’t need to worry as much about what’s in the tank and a dedicated E85 for when I’m taking it to the track and know what’s in the tank.

I plan on driving this car a lot and the main benefit of this is that I can travel away from wichita and not worry about ethanol availability along the way to KC, Tulsa, OKC, etc.

I’m also excited about getting it to the track and making some passes. I never was able to take my terminator as it didn’t have a cage.

From my understanding there is not a true flex fuel tune available on our cars. I had a flex fuel tune on my GTR and it was awesome! The ability to run 93 or E85 or whatever combo was in the tank and have the ecu re-map accordingly was AMAZING! I have asked Palm Beach Dyno why they don't have a flex fuel tune and they said there is not a proper setup for our cars to use that tune. My GTR had a sensor attached to the fuel line and that would read the E content and adjust the tune accordingly. Not sure why someone doesn't create a good one for our cars...they would make a lot of money. I was told that 2 DIFFERENT tunes are required to run E85. A regular 93 (or 91) tune and a completely different E85 tune...

Scott, you are correct. I’m disappointed to say that I spoke with Lund today and they won’t do their flex fuel tune on boosted applications so the 500 is out.

I’ll have to do the 91 and the E85 tune. Not a huge deal, I just have to make sure my build doesn’t exceed 91 octaines capabilities.

I have 3 tunes. 93 oct on 2.65, E on 2.65 and E on 2.27. If im going out to specifically race, the car gets the drag radials the 2.27 an E and i plan the usage/stops. if im just being normal, 20" R888 and 2.65, whatever tune/ fuel i happen to have on hand/in it. E is not available locally, so if i run out, i just fill upwhere ever and swap tunes accordingly
