Nothing too exciting, but wanted to share a couple photos of the oem unit and one of the replacement. I was advised to get this part replaced (already had clutches/intermediate shaft in it), at my new found power level (1101 rwhp). I'm glad I took that advice. It was definitely on the way out.

My Exedy clutches and all else looked very good. So good, that they asked who tunes the car. They replaced some seals, swapped in a new filter, added an updated drum (the planetary required it) and that was it.

This was on a 12' car, 24k miles, 600+ rwhp starting at 3k miles, up to 1101 currently.

The new planetary is made by Bluestreak Performance, in Australia.

I had Finish Line Performance, in Cincinnati, Ohio, do the install. They have been servicing these transmissions since they started coming in these cars. They have one guy who does all of the transmission work. He knows them like the back of his hand. It gives me confidence in the install.

What a work of art that piece is! Now u should feel confident to lean on it. Shit, Brett Lasala was making 1500 whp when he set the 6r80 record so ur covered now.

Not a cheap upgrade I know but totally worth it. I felt like I could just smash it at anytime of the street without scattering tranny parts down the hi way now lol. 1100 whp is NO JOKE!

Thanks for posting, looks like a high quality piece. I will have to look up that shop since ill be moving up that way soon. Were about to rip into my buddies 6R80 and replace the clutches and intermediate shaft. I'm curious what kind of wear we find considering his trans is from a truck and has some miles on it. From what I hear if you lose the forward planetary it can cause significant damage, at your power level I think you made the right choice upgrading.

Its funny u say that about the clutches and how the guy commented on the Tuner. Cause wen I had the billet planetary and sprag installed my clutches were toast! I dont use that Tuner any longer so im hoping my new tune will help with clutch wear. Mine were gone after just one year of driving smh.

Guess it goes to show a proper tune goes a lot further than just making power or keeping an engine together. I was so pissed cause its like $750 bucks down the drain.
