I am sending that $10,000 to Coinbase. **** that it was losing money sitting there. I don't care buying in high now. It has more room to grow I think.
There has been I believe 7 spikes in Bitcoin. You might be better served letting it tank and then invest. Or you could just Ride The Lightning! Keep us informed, curious how we all do and what we all do.

Funny. I bought 5 ETH last night, few litecoin, and bitcash. Tired of seeing everyone else bank off this shit. Wish I’d have got into when it came out but I, like most others, thought but was bullshit.

Hope your right about it. I plan on riding it and adding to it.

And it’s tanking...
Yeah I have not bought yet. I linked one of my banking accounts to Coinbase but decided to wait. I installed a ticker in the Windows 10 taskbar so I can keep an eye on it. I am terrible with trading so as soon as I press buy it will probably drop like a rock lmao!

I've had $10,000 sitting in a savings account for more than 3 years now. I kept it around in case I needed it. It's accumulated a whopping $26 in interest during that time. I could have bought 3 Bitcoins with that $10,000 when Bitcoin hit rock bottom in 2018 and that would have been close to $120,000 now. Or I could have bought stock with it. I did put money in crypto the past few years and doing ok now but still wish I had taken that $10,000 into BTC. It's still sitting in the savings account doing nothing.

By doing nothing I lost out on $110,000.

And thats my current issue almost exactly...its been just chilling not doin shit

Well I am playing it safe at this point. I have no idea how high Bit Coin will rise but I do know it's above all previous peaks. Taking that into account I have vaulted my Ethereum, Bitcoin and Litecoin. I'll mess around with all the other coins and still invest a little in those three. I'll still keep my weekly BC buys going. Goal is to reinvest when it hits another low. Just keeping it in and allowing it to go up and down doesn't make long term sense to me. I will say although this is my game plan...I am GREEEEEEN and could be completely missing out. But I'll learn more as I go.

I'm sure it's been asked a million times but what's the safest way to get into buying crypto? Having seen these ups and downs a few times over the years and the crazy runs this shit can go on I feel like it's stupid not to hop in on the next dip and see what happens. The only thing that has kept me from doing it in the past is the fact that it feels like I'm just opening myself up to getting my accounts drained, almost like trusting those Nigerian Prince emails lol. Is it safe to link your account to coinbase? Or are you guys just using spare accounts and only keeping money you invest in it to keep your normal accounts safe? Or would it be better/easier to use the robinhood app?

I started using PayPal to buy crypto. It's got a fee but it's easy to do. You are limited on what you can buy though. Currently only offer Bitcoin, Etherium, Bitcoin cash and lite coin

I just use Robinhood.

Then I can keep an eye on most of my shit in one place. It's also free, and it's really damn fast.

I remember using coinbase some years back, it would take days for an order to fill. Not sure if it's still slow like that but RH is pretty nice.

If you are looking to actually HOLD your OWN Bitcoin, then I don't think paypal or robinhood is the way to go.....you'd want to use Coinbase/Gemini/Kraken b/c after you buy it, you can then transfer it to your own wallet.

IF you are looking for exposure to Bitcoin, then paypal and robinhood are fine.

Ohh good point.

Yeah I don't care about actually holding the coins. I just like money and hope I can make some by waiting for a few years.

RH has a habit of crashing/not executing during extreme vol.

They have a sweet little scam goin... they won't buy your order until they can front run it and buy for less.. same with sales.
They just pocket the skim all day long.
If it's free...you're the product.

I know every platform does it... but RH is noticeably magnified.

Great question and topic. Obviously security is a huge concern. I wonder(ed) the same thing. Do I really want to connect my bank account to these. Or do I make another account strictly for investing.

I do see that you can go through paypal. My first thought about them was about their fees. I'm going to start with putting into eth and cardano. Maybe a cannabis stock as that industry should see consistent gains.

So I've learned that crypto is viewed by the big man as a property not currency. So any profit is faced with capital gains tax. That is then split short term or long term. From what I see short term is basicay 25 percent tax and long term (12 months) is 15 percent tax. So potentially a big difference if profits are big. So depends on investment goals.

Would you guys recommend more than one app. Say rh for crypto and binance for stocks? Or everything on one? Or does it matter?
