Just heard the the makers of the nGauge, e-Motion, are going out of business and that they are no longer producing their device.
Is this true?
Is this true?
Got anything to share other than "Yes".
****. ... Lund is apparently going to tune only with SCT once the NGauge is out of production. And about the only thing I trust SCT to do is revert back to the stock ECU tune.
Anyone know if HP Tuners is neutered like SCT? A street tune is a street tune with cats, but **** off if I'm running off road at the track with that EPA Nazi bullshit.
My apologies, I didn't clarify. They will continue supporting NGauge for legacy customers, but new customers will be SCT only. I'm unsure if they will support customers who buy used NGauges. So we would have to get new devices when we get a re tune? Say when you do a gear change or turn up the boost.
Vic
I was informed, and seriously correct me if Im wrong here, that current SCT firmware tuning will not allow you to turn the Catalyst monitors off in the tune. Even if that car is being tuned as a dedicated race car for off highway competition.I was never a fan of the ngauge anyway.
Just curious why anyone would refuse to use SCT ? The ngauge is just a writing device it doesn't matter what the device that writes the tune is its the actual tune file the tuner writes that controls how the vehicle operates. ngauge or xcal is irrelevant tune wise.
Consider myself corrected! No youve been told bad information.
Software is unchanged and you can disable anything as you always could.
Pro racer guys i.e. not pro tuners are limited and cannot disable emissions components amongst other things.
This is not true and I had my car recently tuned with a X4I was informed, and seriously correct me if Im wrong here, that current SCT firmware tuning will not allow you to turn the Catalyst monitors off in the tune. Even if that car is being tuned as a dedicated race car for off highway competition.

As for myself personally, Ive got no problems with monitoring on a street tune, regardless of hp level. It is what it is and we do what we do. But if Im asking for a tune specifically for off road use, I think a check engine light on for cat deficiency is ridiculous. Im depending on the CEL to tell me if its detecting something bad happening. I dont give 2 shits about emissions off road. Not a single bit.
Ever since SCT/Bullydog got popped by the EPA (thanks to all the Coal rolling morons out there) I have been informed (accurately or not) that these kinds of firmware tweaks are part of the compromise that they had to agree to to not get assblasted.
