"Dress for the job you want, not the job you have" is one of the biggest lies they tell you, right after "you can be anything you want."

...but apparently dressing like a karate astronaut is a good way to get sent home for the day.

When I give my two weeks notice, I like to go into the office and tell the boss 'this is my two weeks notice. For the next two weeks, you're going to notice I ain't doing shit.' I then proceed to do the robot and make fart noises until they send me home.

Frank, why are you stuck in there?

Uh lolwut...

Is this a quote from a movie or something, because this is some stupid ass highschool teenage logic.

To keep it stupid: act like a boss, dress like a boss, people will think of you as a boss and you will become the boss.

50% or more of career advancement is going to be politics, presentation and reputation.

You can be the smartest, hardest working guy ever, but if you dress like a bum, mutter and stammer through any presentation, can't convince people to support you or follow you.. Then you are doomed.

Also, burning bridges as you leave one job for another is ****ing stupid. It may feel great in that moment, but it builds a reputation and leaves you with fewer future options and allies.

That all was as true as Hissman dated the girl on the right.

...and FWIW I think that was part of an Aziz Ansari standup routine.
