Again, your only about 1.5 hours from Tim Barth (Barth Tuning). He is one of the major players when it comes to Hellcat tuning.

Give Tim a call to discuss your options. If an untraceable tune exists, Tim would know about it.

.

yes, I saw he was in Freeport. I’m out there often. Know the town very well.

The shop that sells these is RipaTuned. He sells all sorts of upgrades for this engine, tunes them as well. He has sold over 2000 of the kits and there hasn't been any engine failures. The key is running good fuel as others have mentioned. That being said IF I could really find a tuner that could swap ECU's and make it untraceable I would be interested. Especially since I am just a tune away from running in the 10's. Could probably get into the 10's on a good tire as well at this point.

RipaTuned does have some complaints but not for engine failures due to my kit. Slow shipping, belt slip and questionable customer service are the main items i researched before biting. But not one forum, google search or anything has shown an engine failure due to this kit. Again, not saying I won't tune, just trying to figure out if I decide to tune can I hide it? If not might as well go big and do a 900 kit or 1100 kit!
Thanks for the filler info. I just found it hard to believe that this kit can use the factory tune safely. But, based on what you said and what I found, it appears to be true. I also understand that you don't want to mess with your warranty. I probably would personally still have used a custom tune even if the tradeoff was risking the loss of that warranty. But that's just me. Well, I do hope you don't have any issues going forward. Also hope you eventually find those 10s you're after. Be safe!

Spoke with Barth yesterday...really nice people. Basically told me he was the one who invented the incognito pulley and it works. lololol. Anyways, he also told me I would gain 15-20AWHP with a good tune compared to what I am at now and that is exactly what Diablo Mike said as well.

At this point in the game I would just add the upper pulley, custom tune and be done as it doesnt make sense to tune what I have now. Decisions decisions!!

The DA is -2400 here the next few hours, so I must go make my record dragy pass...lol. Chat soon!

I would highly recommend a pinned 10% lower if you are going this route.

Also, be sure to get a clutched upper.

Finally, injectors and BAP.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

Also, they do advertise a zero failure rate. From their Facebook page @CobraBob

I get what they're saying. I just wouldn't personally skip a custom tune. That's just me. Maybe I'm too familiar with how important a new tune is when making upper/lower pulley changes on a 2003-2004 Cobra. LOL.

Or us lightning guys with no functioning knock sensors from the factory! Ford still put them on the engine but they did nothing.
Not only a dyno tune but a MAF extender with a ported eaton and a 4# and later 6# lower with crap 91. Changed the fuel filters often too.

Sold to actual customers and in use or sold to vendors who have them on the shelf to re-sell?

Your datalogs the dealers runs will probably show things weren’t stock anyway.

You left out the most important part, did Tim verify if an untraceable tune exists?

Tim doesn’t modify the PCMs. The question to ask if any of his Diablo PCMs show a P1400 once installed. Answer will be no.
