That sucks but at least you have your Navy pension. A lot of people as completely ass out right now and congress doesn't give a ****.

I got laid off right when the shit hit and saved every damn penny i could get my hands on. Been waiting for the last 2 months to get my back unemployment because I actually need my money. When the crap runs out this Saturday Im still not working full time and Congress could care less.

This shit ****ing sucks. Work your entire damn life and get ****ed off by the chinks creating a virus and your own government.

Personally, I am unaffected; however, in my circle of family and friends, three people have died from COVID, several more were hospitalized and recovered and many others lost their source of primary income.

I cope in my own way by hating the Chinese for using biological warfare against my country and by hating the left and the media for covering it up.

Just shut down the Restaurant again Yesterday. Got shut in March, opened up in July, made it until Inslee shut down in restaurant dining again. Large portions of the Metropolitan Seattle, Bellevue areas are looking desolate. Long Dark Winter.

Been on furlough working a week on and a week off since the end of July. I took a 15% cut first and now I’m making half of that plus my $469 unemployment check for the week I’m off so for 5 months now I’ve made around $4k less a month. I sold the mustang to help but money is going to get tight real soon. I don’t see the owner keeping me much longer unless it picks up some. Things have changed drastically in the oilfield this last year. It’s not all due to Covid but it sure hasn’t helped.

It was a crazy few days. It was hard not to panic.

Luckily my wife and I are still employed. When this first hit, they screwed her hours up at work because they contracted with travel nurses and then the big spike never came and they shut down surgeries. So this left her only working half of what she use to because being casual they only have to give her 24 hours or so in 6 weeks. Knock on wood we have stayed away from the Rona. My dad had a successful surgery, removed some cancer spots on his only remaining kidney. Biggest issue which I touched on in the Rona post is my kids. They have had the biggest impact as far as taking them out of school, my folks not wanting to come over because of whatever reasons.

Ya the aviation industry guy ****ed hard

I work for an aerospace production company and all of our commercial airline build rates slowed to a crawl. Luckily we also have defense contracts so we were deemed essential and were allowed to stay open during the first round of shutdowns.

Wife and I have been very fortunate. Still looking forward to this being behind us eventually.

Fortunately the construction/development didn't take a hit here. However, quite a few neighbors I know have lost their jobs or reduced hours. I can't imagine how Orlando is doing now.

So far, so good for me. We're foregoing our annual raises and our 401k matching contributions were cut entirely for a few months and then brought back at a reduced percentage, but no layoffs due to good financials and a C-suite that really care about their people. I'm an engineer at a healthcare software company and our clients are hospital systems, so we have taken some hits as our clients have, but we're riding it out and things are looking up already. A little griping from a few about some of the belt-tightening going on, but the vast majority would rather that than having to get rid of people.

I got laid off back in 2008 when the economy crapped the bed, so I'm sorry about those of you having a rough time right now. I hope you all pull through.

Things are tight but we’re staying afloat. Wife and I are both state employees. Both of us took 10% paycuts.

I haven’t missed a beat as far as work is concerned and I am grateful for that. With that being said it is sad that our individual freedoms are being trampled and our kids are losing out on the most important educational and life experiencing times due to this crazy ass virus stuff. Overall personally this whole ordeal has been a huge tester of my patients with all the home schooling cancelled events and what not. At the end of the day I have to be grateful I’m still breathing and as long as I do so I know I will continue to prevail through this while maintaining my God given freedoms.

My job hasn’t changed, fortunate there.

Wife has taught a lot of her classes online, and has made more money this year than any she has before due to telehealth and e-visits blowing up.

Still think it’s dumb that local governments are driving others into the ground and further into debt by forcing closures and shit downs.

Im in Transportation and our industry is very busy after the initial April dip from "stay at home" orders. The recovery was a literal V curve immediately after April and we are busier than a cat covering up shit at this point.

Additionally, the ports are backed up 8-12 weeks so "slowing down" wont be happening Q1 like it typically does in this industry. It's been insane.
