Wow if a quick Google search is right, the new GT500 weighs more than my V and I have 2 extra doors. That's pretty sad.

GT500 is a fatty for sure. It's right up there with the fat ass hellcats

Could be worse, I think the TRX tips the scale at somewhere around 6500lbs!!!

I am sure between the weight of the truck plus the motor plus the tires is why it gets a best of 9mpg city ( which is where this thread has decided it would be most of the time

Don’t need a big truck for poor mileage. Lol. I averaged 12.5 in my Scat Pack over 3.5 years and so far my new GT is liking 10 MPG.

I’ve always felt that unless you are on the highway constantly and getting much better than 13-14 avg from your performance car you wasted your money and should have bought something lame.

if I had TRX money 9 MPG would mean squat. Useless metric in this discussion.

I don’t think money has anything to do with it, but from experience it gets old at times. My C63 was rated at 12 city and 19hwy but I can count on one hand how many times I got double digit mpg. Filling up your tank 4 out of your 5 work days can sometimes get old.

I don’t buy cars for mpg but if it’s a daily it does factor in. For me anyway

If I were to use the truck as a desert runner/ explorer, it would be fitted with dual fuel can holders!! Hate to be in the middle of no where and have the little blinky light tell you that you are soon to be screwed!

Interesting feedback on your scat pack. My daily driver is a 17 Charger Daytona 392. It’s a company car so I didn’t pay for it, and also don’t pay for gas, tires, etc... it’s all covered. I use and abuse it, like a rental car. I actually feel somewhat badly, but that car takes the abuse begs for more. All that said, I still get mid to upper teens mpg although primary freeway driven at 85+ most days.

I live less than 3 miles from work...so, yeah. A little freeway helps.

Hopefully you have a tazer and enabled eco mode, it allows MDS up to 85 MPH assuming you have the 3.09 gears.

Man, I thought my Raptor was bad on gas and heavy. My 2012 Scab weighs 58XXlbs and I get 13mpg around town. I would love a TRX though.
