Oh the joys of hot rodding. So much to do and so little time to do it. Good luck with your project OP, I don't envy you.

I’ve been seeing quite a few guys go back to a clutch assisted trans from a built auto. A lot of turbo cobras.

Would a swap happen: It will depend on if the updated Tremec synchro rings do what they are advertised to do. Aside from all new bearings and bronze shift fork pads, 1st and 2nd gear will be new, along with a new synchronizer assembly, 2nd will get the current performance rings, 1,3 and 4 will get the hybrid rings. I might do 5 and 6 for shits and giggles.

I also had a decent convo with US Shift. Apparently the Quick 6 now has an updated controller that's all digital and revised algorithms. Is it enough to get me to buy a junkyard trans and the Quick 6 to try? .... depends on the price of the trans.

If its satisfactory, I could then work on a 6R80 overhaul. A rebuilt TR6060 has to genuinely disappoint me first.

my car will be a manual for a while longer. I'm invested in the timing system, with the billet Shelby Mike tensioner arms being the last piece of that puzzle to safely run a 2-step. I see no other way of getting out of the hole effectively in a stick car, at least one that doesnt eventually destroy something.

I got my Megasquirt 3 Pro. They've got a ton of features that will help mitigate some of the manual shortcomings. It's got a nice anti-lag feature and a bunch of limiter options- fuel cut, spark cut, both, timing reduction, rolling cylinder cut. And it's got the no lift shift feature built in as well. It's about as good as you're going to get and won't beat the hell out of your timing system. My engine is built and I was nervous about running a spark only cut on the ECU. This ought to be a lot more forgiving- and effective.

Personally I think would sell current setup and switch to 10a 5.0 or hellcat/ZL1 before I would do anything like this. Huge money suck and PIA with better options available.

Can say that for almost any car when modding extensively.
I think he’ll be very happy with a properly built TR6060 and the right clutch.
