Some of the music is cool but I can’t handle the baby talk sounding vocals. No need to listen to that when their so many other great extreme metal bans out there.

A friend of mine was really into that about 10 or 12 years ago. I just don't get it.

I hear you guys. I guess, for me, I can deal with these vocals better than the death metal vocals. That deep voice death metal screaming style I can't stand.

I kind of equate Babymetal to Rammstein. The music is good, but I don't understand shit they say LOL.

I prefer heavy metal bands that sing instead of scream (in my opinion), such as Testament, Korn, Anthrax, Metallica, Megadeth, Disturbed, Tool, Slipknot, Pantera, etc.

I hear you, that’s the absolute most common complaint from people that don’t like death metal. Personally I love it, it’s like another instrument that’s heavy like the music. I also love the thrash bands that came before. To me death metal is on another level. I grew up during the beginning of it in the late 80s early 90s.

Yeah, I graduated in 1985 and loved the thrash metal. I was in the AC/DC, Van Halen, Dokken, Def Leppard, Scorpions and Judas Priest camp in the early 80's. Then my buddy let me listen to his collection. He had Testament, Anthrax, Pantera and Metallica. I was like this shit is on another level. Been listening to thrash ever since.

I understand you love death metal and I understand we all have different tastes. I think the heaviest I can get is Sepultura. Anything beyond that is too much for me LOL.

I do try to listen to things you guys post in here. Some times I find a band I like and had not heard before. So, it works out for me, but some times others like @tones_RS3 posts some serious hard core metal and I look like that picture of Sponge Bob's friend that @03Sssnake posted LMAO!!!!

I too, also listen to A LOT of hair metal bands.
All old school hair/heavy metal stuff. RATT, OZZY, DIO, SCORPIONS, IRON MAIDEN, MOTLEY CRUE. Those are at the top of my head. There are others. Awesome stuff.
My preference is thrash and death metal though. And I do the occasional dip into the hardcore scene as well once in a while.

Anyone else get goosebumps listening to Tool's Pushit? Particularly around 8:15 - 9:00

Ever more so 10:45 - 11:15ish here.

Tool rarely performed this live (due to obvious reasons of trying to hit those notes night after night), but I DID get to hear them play the song during a sound check at what is now the Xfinity Center (formerly Great Woods) in Mansfield MA. A group of us had VIP parking and seats for the show. We were parked so close, the workers were parked further away from us, they were cutting through the VIP parking lot when walking into work.
Since hearing it live that afternoon, I was hooked and it just gives me the chills everytime I hear it.

Any other songs do it for you guys?

Heard these guys today for the first time. Probably to mellow for this group, but think it's interesting as this guy kinda has a Chris Cornell vibe....
