Ladies and Gents,
Finally picked up a 2014 fully optioned, bone stock GT500 a couple weeks ago. I’ve owned and been wrenching on mustangs for 25 years. Newest one prior to this was a brand new Termi back in 2004. I’ve spent countless hours in this specific section and have learned a lot. Definitely a completely different animal then the 04 Cobra was! So far my mod plans are light. What I want to do is as follows:

-Lethal O/R H

-CAI

-FRPP 65mm TB

-3:73’s

-NGauge / tune.

My question I guess is what CAI do you recommend? I see a lot of bad press on the JLT 123mm in the older threads, seems most suggest the PMAS unit. Also, any other mods you suggest? I already have a JLT catch can for the passenger side. The car will mostly be used as a weekend cruiser / back and forth to work once or twice a week if the weather is good. I’m not looking to go crazy like I did with my 04 (KB 2.2 swap, full exhaust, etc). This car bone stock feels stronger then my heavy modified 04 did. Basically want to add some more to the seat of my pants feel without putting the motor in jeopardy. Thanks in advance!

Congrats, post up some pictures of her
As for mods, the JLT123 works great but some people do like the PMAS 120. But either intake will get the job done. As for the T/Bs, the FRPP twin 65mm T/B is tried and true but so is the VMP twin 67mm. I would do a 2.4 upper pulley as well, it will pick you up another 40+whp easily. OFR H-pipe is a good choice and the 3.73 gears will help the life of the clutch. Are you going to have Lund racing tune it?

Congrats on the new to you GT500. Awesome color combo....just a little bias. My first new 2014 GT500 was the same color combo RRM/black. My latest 2013 is Red Candy with black stripes. Love these Shelby’s and have fun with your new ride. I also came from a 2003 Redfire and 2004 Mystichrome to the GT500’s. All great rides but just like these 13/14 beasts more.

Congrats! Beautiful car, great color!

+1 to everything @2011 gtcs said. FWIW, I've run a 127mm CAI (CF version of the 123mm) for years with ZERO problems. I don't think you'll go wrong with it or PMAS. I installed mine along with a 67mm CFM Twin Jet TB (unbranded version of VMP's), 2.4" Upper, 90mm Idler, and BPS Oversized & Ported Plenum/Elbow ~3.5 years and ~14K miles ago. I remain happy with all.

Congrats and beautiful car. The JLT 123mm Intake is fine. I run it with no problems.

The mods you have outlined are perfect and will really wake the Car up, esp the 3.73 gears! You should be able to change the upper pulley to a 2.4 and still be fine.

What kind of rear tire are you running? I couldn't make it out in the picture but would definitely go Toyo R888 or Nitto NT05, you will need it.

I used the Van's 13-6 kit, which was confirmed to work together and included all the bits and pieces.
It has everything you listed and the smaller pulley and belt.
Only thing I did not like was the off road H pipe brand.
Go with the Lethal.
If Van is still kicking, he is super to answer any questions.

If you really get into spending and modding, I would not change out the factory heat exchanger. I have had no issues with my swap, but except for a day at the track, it has limited to no benefits on the street.
My temps came down quickly with car mph, no need for the fans, IMO

Agree, both Van and my tuner have also told me save my money on the H/E
