If you're in NORMAL mode, it should show you what gear you are in. I think all modes show you what gear you are in.Also can't stand the fact that the Mustang will not display current gear unless in paddle mode.
Do you have the digital display?

The Mustang should have launch control, both of my 17s had it but they were manuals.. (GTPP and GT350).Also can't stand the fact that the Mustang will not display current gear unless in paddle mode.
I had 3 choices of how I wanted to see current gear in the Charger and with 2 more gears to be in, it would be cool to know.
The Ford calibrator told me last week that he thinks he can add it, in the tune, so we shall see.
Randoms...Charger had launch control, but no line lock. Was able to enable line lock using Tazer.
Mustang has Line lock, but no launch control...
The SRT Performance pages seem gimmicky, but I do wish I could see 0-60 and 1/4 mile in the car. Also sucks not having a legit coolant temp gauge (dummy gauge doesn't even have hash marks, just a big 'ol green range)

They both had all the track apps too for 0-60, 1/4, etc. Also numerical temp gauges too.
No, I have the standard cluster with the center display that has info, gauges, etc.If you're in NORMAL mode, it should show you what gear you are in. I think all modes show you what gear you are in.

I’m told it’s worth a few hp and improves throttle response a bit. It requires the adapter plate to bolt to the stock intake. it does require a tune change for proper operation.@Diablo Mike is the Bullit throttlebody a direct swap? Im feeling a little frisky with the new car and am thinking of bolt ons

A10 vs ZF8...that's a heavy one.
Right off the bat, the A10 just feels busy. Unless you are at a steady cruise, its always doing something.
The ZF8 never felt like a trans with too many gears, and besides not liking to shift below 4th at low speeds, it was pretty well thought out and programmed.
Moderate acceleration in the 10 speed results in really inconsistent shifts with the stock tune. 1-2 may be smooth then 2-3 is super firm, then 3-4 is different again, etc. All with the same throttle input. If you vary throttle input throughout the acceleration run, it gets even weirder. You'll get some weird double shifts and skipped shifts, etc.
The ZF8 never had those issues, always just performed like a traditional auto as far as driver feedback was concerned.
Paddle behavior between the 2 is similar, although I have noticed some pretty heavy delays using the paddles on the 3-4 and 5-6 shifts in the A10, but so far only at part throttle, and i have no interest in paddling at WOT.
And speaking of WOT, clearly that's where the A10 shines. The ZF8 was no slough, and even the factory programming performed really well at WOT, and was even better with some simple tune tweaks. The A10 in stock programming is on point. Shifts are nice and firm and firmer in sport/sport+/track, but I don't love the feel of those dragstrip mode shifts. They'll have to show some improvement at the track for me to believe in them.
Hoping to hit the track Wednesday to see how well the A10 can perform.
Good luck. No, I have the standard cluster with the center display that has info, gauges, etc.
The only time I see the current gear is when using the paddles.
Gonna dig through the settings menus again tomorrow.
Good luck.
I have the digital dash and it always shows the gear you are in, no matter what drive mode you are in.
Well said. I much prefer the ZF in my HC versus the A10 in the 2018 GT I had in every scenario, except WOT. WOT is a toss up for me.
Also, unless you tune the car or have a digital cluster, gear indicator is nowhere to be found without using the paddles (as you already found out).
Nice ride man!
Confirmed the track apps are indeed there. I had seen them and managed to forget about them
Gonna let the tuner mess with the display and see if he can get it to show current gear all the time.
to display what gear you're in, at least in the F150, hit the +/- button on the shifter. that toggles it on/off.
Hmm. I know I'm talking a F-150 with the 10 speed. I have a button to turn the gear display on and off on the shifter.
Yes, the F150 has that whole 1-10 display in the dash and will show current gear, but unless its hiding really good, it doesn't exist in the Mustang.
On my 18, yes.On truck you just press the select shift button +/- to turn on or off the gear display, did you try that? I know on 6r80, there is a toggle in tuning software to completely turn on or off.
Same with my '16 Ram Sport. On truck you just press the select shift button +/- to turn on or off the gear display
Now if you can find a way to change the A/F gauge in the cluster to read Lambda or E85 Scale fuel....Got it sorted out. Gotta love working for a tuning company
Dash now displays current gear next to odometer.

Will have to look into that. Now if you can find a way to change the A/F gauge in the cluster to read Lambda or E85 Scale fuel....
Nice Ride!
Gonna take some digging.I want someone to figure out how to bring all the temps, track pack etc data from mustang cluster and enable it to function on F150 cluster.
